The first time I went to see her I walked out with the best haircut I’ve ever received, and I was so excited to come back and get more services with her.This second time I saw her, I got a partial highlight, Olaplex treatment, cut and blow dry. Emily assessed my hair and we worked through what I wanted – subtle highlights that still looked fairly natural and a crisp trim with face-framing layers. She did such a beautiful job on the highlights (as evidenced by the attached picture), and my hair feels wonderful after the Olaplex treatment and cut/dry. This hidden gem in the NW burbs of Chicago is a boutique salon that offers everything from haircuts & color to waxing & tanning, and the prices are amazinggggggg. I’m accustomed to spending upwards of $90 on my haircuts, and Aks offers women’s haircuts starting at $50. Another perk is that the area is really nice – tons of restaurants, cafes & shops, which I always like when I’m treating myself to spa day.I scheduled an appointment to get my hair cut and a deep conditioning treatment with their cosmetologist, Lucy. I showed Lucy a random celebrity photo that I was hoping to mimic, and Lucy spent 10-15 minutes walking me through the technicalities of the haircut I was showing her, my hair type/texture, and what I was hoping my hair would look like. She was so thorough, and I walked out feeling super educated on my hair needs and wants. My deep conditioning treatment felt so good, and I’m still feeling the effects of it 10 days later.Best part? I randomly asked if they could squeeze in an eyebrow threading, and they were so flexible & accommodating last minute. I had an awesome experience at Aks Allure in Lake Bluff. This hidden gem in the NW burbs of Chicago is a boutique salon that offers everything from haircuts & color to waxing & tanning, and the prices are amazinggggggg. I’m accustomed to spending upwards of $90 on my haircuts, and Aks offers women’s haircuts starting at $50. The ease of creating the appointment was awesome first of all. I walked in and it was clean & the ambiance of the employees was so friendly. McKinley greeted me right as I walked in, cleaned my lashes with primer, to ensure a clean application &had a consultation with me. I told her I wanted to look like Barbie and she didn’t disappoint. I woke up after my lash nap feeling 10000x better about my appearance, once she had my applied my customized lash look. She perfectly applied my lashes to made my eye shape POP!I couldn’t stop staring She is incredibly talented and knowledgeable. She gained all of my trust after she handed me the mirror to see my lashes. I actually came in the next day to get my eyebrows threaded with her, & GIRL I PONDER- how she does so many services so perfectly!? Perfectly symmetry. GO BOOK with her so often we search for service providers to go to that screw up over and over- she doesn’t do that. McKinley goes above and beyond what you expect from a technician!!! I called Aks and McKinley squeezed me in to get my lashes done with no problem! The ease of creating the appointment was awesome first of all. I walked in and it was clean & the ambiance of the employees was so friendly. McKinley greeted me right as I walked in, cleaned my lashes with primer, to ensure a clean application &had a consultation with me. I told her I wanted to look like Barbie and she didn’t disappoint.
