I have had my hair cut by Aki several times and I just recently made the jump to dying the underside of my hair blue (a lifelong dream). Aki is always wonderful and I am so grateful to have her and her talents in my life.A few specific pros about working with Aki:1. I usually come in with a vague idea of what I want and Aki helps refine my idea based on her skills and know-how. As an indecisive and unfashionable person, this is one of the key reasons I love Aki. I really need that extra support in styling/cutting my hair and many other hairdressers don’t take that extra step.2. Aki is a perfectionist and very thoughtful about each haircut/project. I so appreciate how much care she puts into each haircut! This also extends to making sure the haircut/project is perfect for ME. Aki knows I am a runner and an athlete. So, in my epic blue-hair-dying project, Aki specifically dyed my hair in a way that it would be EVEN MORE fabulous when I wore it up in a ponytail. YESSSS! (Typically hairstylists just remind me not to wear my hair up).3. Being treated like family. Aki and Ivy are both very kind and work closely with me prior to and after appointments (e.g,. checking in to see how I like my haircut). It makes me feel very well taken care of. It is always nice to connect deeply with others in a society that does not always encourage these connections.4. Cost-effective! Aki’s salon is very cost-effective and especially perfect for my student-budget.5. Aki’s style is unique and beautiful.
