I went in to the shop in Hattiesburg, MS a few days before my appointment and asked if they would be able to braid my hair because it is short. She said sure no problem. On September 2nd, I went in after prepping my hair at home like they asked and waited for them to get there. The lady that did my hair was deaf. She talked on the phone the whole time and sometimes I even caught her signing about me because she was pointing to my head and pulling on my hair while making noises. I did not say anything about her eating because she was standing on her feet the whole time. I sat in the chair 5 1/2 hours with no break. Even though my head was hurting, I still like the look of my hair when I left. It has been one week and 4 days. Since my hair finally felt like it had loosened up I wanted to make a ponytail in the top. When I leaned over and caught my hair, the bottom two rows in the back and some of the braids in the front all slipped out…one of which did break completely off. I mainly took a picture and sent it to Gwen in the shop but have not gotten a response even though the message was read . So this review is my last resort. Since I won’t be getting my money back hopefully it would help someone to not get their money taken or deal with bad customer service. Lesson learned. I will never go back!!!

My hair looks amazing and they did a wonderful job. Definitely the place to get your hair braided.I booked my appointment at the last minute and they took me the same day. There were three of them in my head at the same time which made them finish faster.

The stylist complained about doing my life partner’s hair after the deposit was made and they went to go in. And proceeded to braid their hair so tight their hair began to break and fall out. Leaving them with a quarter sized bald spot on the top middle of their head. Braids

Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityNo need to make an appointment you WILL NOT be seen on time!!!!! They just need to tell people 1st come 1st serve. I was waiting for 4 hours NEVER got my box braids!!!!! This was my 1st time going to the Africans and I’m very disappointed. I asked the lady in 1 chair what time she made it in, she said at 8:00 its 3:00 she still was not finished!!!! JUST SAD!!!!! ON THE PHONE TO DAMN MUCH!!!!!! Aissa’s braiding is exceptionally great!! She was very quick (medium box braids) and I was very satisfied with the finishing outcome. I’ll definitely go back when I decide to sport box braids again!! Thanks Aissa!!

Paid $250 for some Box braids that didn’t even last 1 week. Before they started sliding out! And braids in the back very spaced out. My head was very rushed. I wouldn’t recommend this place!
