WORST AFRICAN SHOP IN BIRMINGHAM!!!! I called and was told to come in at 5 in the evening to get some Senegalese twists. Get there at 430 and my hair was never touched till 10 that night. (So I sat 5 hold hours befor getting serviced) At 1am in the morning the lady asked me to pay… 250 dollars… I stated since it was and inconvenience on you all behalf I’ll pay 200 dollars and just come back in the morning(NOT STATING THAT ILL HAVE TO CALL OFF WORK) This lady tried to lock me in the shop not wanting the 200 dollars. I had to call the police and the manager to get my issue resolved. The shop was nasty. They never ask if I wanted a drink of water or nunthing THE WORST SHOP IN BIRMINGHAM. BAD BUSINESS PERIOD. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS SHOP TO ANYONE PERIOD. Whish I could’ve got pictures of the batroom

Spoke with stylist, gave me an appointment of 9am then changed to 7am Sunday, which was great! She was nice and professional. The day of my appointment was told was told to come at 730. I had already left my home . Waited over an hour she still was not there. I know things happen but that was ridiculous. Gave 3 stars because I know life happens but don’t do your clients that way, will lose business.

I started going here b/c of so many good things I heard about Aissa and the shop was closer to my new home than Jamilah’s on 3rd Ave. I will definitely bypass this shop and go back to Jamilah’s.I went the day before to set up my appointment. Arrived the next day on time but braider was not there. There was actually 3 of us that were on time for our appointment but no braiders were there ready to service us. Sat almost an hour before someone got started on my hair. I always get Senegalese and pay 180.00 for the same length. This time after waiting an hour for someone to start on my hair, being left unattended without any explanation, and being there for 11hrs; I was told that my fee was 200.00 and that a lot of shops are not doing them anymore because of timing which is a lie. I have never sat longer than 5-6 hrs at Jamilah’s with the same thick long hair that I have now. All of the bad reviews are absolutely true. They are not at all considerate of their customers time and money. They expect full payment but inconsistent with service. I started going here b/c of so many good things I heard about Aissa and the shop was closer to my new home than Jamilah’s on 3rd Ave. I will definitely bypass this shop and go back to Jamilah’s.

The staff is very friendly and welcoming and if you want something basic, this is the place! The other customers there seemed very satisfied with their final product. I, j however, am not. I brought in a picture for and up do. My final product was not like the picture although I was told that it could be done. The process took double the amount of time I was told and I left the first time with my hair looking nothing like the picture. After visit 2, it looks like it could be in the family of the style I actually wanted, paid for and thought I was getting. Very dissatisfied!

8.5 hours for cornrows. They don’t even TRY to get you out in a timely manner. I’ve been getting braids for a long time and understand it takes time to produce a quality product. But when the person that’s supposed to be working on you gets to the shop an hour after you do and constantly stops to live their life while you’re sitting in their chair. . . I’ve never been this upset at a hair salon. It’s absolutely ridiculous.

I’m not sure who did my hair but it looked amazing… took a minute but it looked great. Butttttt they had roaches and it looked messy, I feel like they should try to clean up on down time. But other than that, I was able to book a last minute appointment, and got exactly what I wanted.
