Love Aim & Ailie Hair Boutique! As a longtime customer (10+ years), I highly recommend this salon. Great stylists, awesome local owners, fun and unpretentious atmosphere and wonderful hair products. It was so nice (and fun!) to be back in person once I was vaccinated. Ailie does a wonderful job with my thick, wavy hair, and my hair and I especially love the Kevin Murphy products they carry. Laura and Meghan have also done a phenomenal job on my hair! I also appreciate their commitment to sustainability, diversity and equality.

I have been to a million other places in the Chicago area and this is the only place that got my color right. Every where else it would either turn out orange or black…but Aim and Ailie got it right. I go to Megan and Laura and my hair cut and hair color always look amazing. Even my mother thinks the color is natural! And the salon is a Green Circle salon which they quietly do without promoting. They recycle everything and pay extra to provide you with Eco friendly products. I won’t go anywhere else. Laura and Megan and all the staff are so caring, compassionate, and friendly. They are wonderful!

I got my hair colored and trimmed here and my stylist, Laura, did a really great job with it. However, she was incredibly rude to me the entire time. I was told that the color I was getting would bring out my acne, that I would greatly regret my choices, and was simply told that I would not look good. For reference, I went from brown to black hair. That was all I did. I was also given no suggestions whatsoever on what color would look better on me, and was left feeling insecure about my hair. I would love to come back to Aim & Allie, as I really do love the work that was done, but I’m incredibly disappointed in the way I was spoken to while there.

I wanted to love it. I got a short pixie in February, it was pricey-120$ with a tip and I walked out stoic but optimistic. It was so short and stringy that I hoped it would grow out nicely. That’s what is the hallmark of a good pixie cut. It’s been 10 weeks and unfortunately, it looks like I have myself a pandemic cut. The layers are haphazard and amateur. The stylist was very nice but the cut is terrible. For 100$ a cut, I could go to some fancy salon downtown and probably get something more professional.

I have never found someone who I trust with my curly hair. I went to Ailie for my Deva cut over a year ago. I went about 20 years without going to a professional for a cut and always cut my own hair. Then I went here, and won’t go anywhere else. I recently went during COVID. Felt completely safe. They keep their salon very clean and very COVID safe.
