I was very pleased with my experience at “Ahead of Hair”! I followed my stylist, Erin Weaver, when she came to work here, and I’m glad I did! I take my kids with me to get haircuts here, and they love Erin as well! (I have two high school girls and a middle school boy- and she’s great with all of them!) She does a FABULOUS job with color and cuts; I always leave with my hair looking twice as good as it did when I walked in. I recommend her to anyone who’s searching for an excellent stylist. She’s also very pleasant and takes personal interest in myself and my kids, making our visits both productive and enjoyable! 🙂 We’re looking forward to our next appointment!

Erin just recently moved to Ahead of Hair and I immediately knew I would follow her. She’s been doing my hair for over seven years and always does an amazing job. When I moved to Richmond I tried a few different hair stylists but struggled to find one that I loved. I joined a couple of local moms groups and whenever someone asked for a recommendation on a good hair stylist “Erin” was the overwhelming recommendation by so many people in the group. I decided to give her a try and am so glad I did! Erin always “gets” exactly what I’m looking for, is efficient and I always enjoy getting to talk with her during my appointments. I would follow her anywhere!

While generally I have never had any issues with this salon, they are super unclear about their pricing. I understand the leveled part of how they function and the type of salon, however I have never felt overcharged until today. I have never payed more for than 35 (excluding tip) and expected the same at my recent visit. Set aside money for a decent tip as well. While my appointment was booked last minute and I didn’t know my stylist this time I expected about the same experience. She did my hair decently well (I’m not over the moon about it) and I made my way over to the counter to pay and they charge me $53. The pricing is ridiculous for a haircut that seemed rushed and is just overall mediocre. I feel awful for not being able to leave a tip and the counter girl seemed shocked when I asked about this. Please update your website and if you’re reading this as a potential customer, you can get the same styles and services done at the hair cuttery down the road. It’s cheaper and you’ll probably receive slightly better customer service and communication. Will not be coming here again. Suggest you do the same.
