Funny thing is I didn’t realize she was putting extensions in my hair, but when I did I didn’t stop her and wanted to continue this strange new adventure. I told her I was feeling adventurous and wanted something different. I never had extensions before and didn’t ask for it. Funny thing is I didn’t realize she was putting extensions in my hair, but when I did I didn’t stop her and wanted to continue this strange new adventure. I had an appointment scheduled for 3:45. When I arrived, I was told one lady, who I believe was the owner, was supposed to do my hair. She came out from the back with a look on her face like “what is it” but said nothing. I said “hi, I am here for my 3:45 appointment for Ghana braids”. She then told the lady who was already doing another client’s hair that she was to do mine when she was done. Then she went and watched videos for the hour and a half that I waited to get my hair braided. The stylist asked what I was getting and I said Ghana braids. Her reply was which style is that? But I made an appointment and told your owner on the phone what it was. Why didn’t she say we don’t know how to do that? Nonetheless I showed her a photo of my desired style. Even with the photo, my hair looked terrible. I literally took them out today. The cornrow to part ratio is ridiculous. My cornrows were the size of medium box braids. I mean all of my hair wasn’t even gripped into the cornrows tightly and my hair is medium length. Awful! Take your money elsewhere please. My stylist was very nice and so was the other young lady but the owner is disrespectful and the Ghana braids looked terrible!

Since Carol has moved into her own shop, I think she is doing a wonderful job. I just got some Marley twists at the beginning of April, they still look great but I am ready to switch my hair style to box braids. She did my braids just how I wanted the, and finished in 4 1/2 hours. Thanks again Carol!

If you have any respect for your hair you would not walk in this place. Terrible attitude, bad customer service and horrible hair braiding. My hair has been braided for 3 days and it looks as if I had it in for months. The young lady that did my hair was very upset that my natural hair was too long and that braiding my hair wouuld never end. I came in to get medium size braids in the style of a bob (keep in mind my hair is long so the back was placed in cornrows before I even came to the salon. It was a lazy unprofessional job done. I highly recommend that you never ever go to this salon. I have nothing positive to say about this so called salon.

From my first visit I was very satisfied, the service is just perfect. So, if you need a hair weaving service or something else you should now the most appropriate place for your hair! 🙂

I set an appointment to get two French braids for my 7 year old. Not only did she cry the entire time, but the braids also looked HORRIBLE. When I brought it to the owners attention, she instructed the stylist to redo the braids. Needless to say, the second attempt looked worse than the first. Instead of making my daughter endure the process a third time, I just made the stylist stop, paid, and left. The owner only took off four dollars from the amount I was supposed to pay although she too agreed that the braids were not done properly. They were loose, messy, and uneven. I will not return or recommend this location to anyone seeking to get their hair braided.

At first I was impressed, but a few hours shortly after the service was completed the twists started loosening & unraveling. Also I was supposed to be charged $150 for the uneven bra strap length I got but instead paid $170. Overall I am very unhappy with the job done on my hair and wish I could get a refund and post pictures of the sloppy “Senegalese twists” that I received.

The worst! I live in Arlington Va but I would typically drive to Stella’s hair braiding in Laurel MD. I did not want to do the drive so I Googled hair braiding salons near me. Long and short of the matter THE WORST BRAIDS EVER!!! I showed Sasha pictures and some of the braids I took out the night before, what I got was crap! She left four times to smoke and used her cell phone through out. It took 7 hours (my sides are shaved!), when I got home I noticed that the braids in the front were 3 times the size of the back, so I returned the next day…3hours to fix!! SAVE YOURSELF AND DON’T DO IT!!

I recently came to this establishment and was deeply disappointed with the service. I came to this establishment on Friday May 22, 2015 for an scheduled hair appointment. I asked for wet n wavy braids in which I provided Human Hair (16′). The Stylist Abby asked how did I want my braids , I stated to make the braids medium just a tad bit bigger than micro. I requested for the braids to be long with leave out. She continued to braid my hair not showing me a sample braid like most braiders would ask. I noticed as she started to braiding near the front of my hair she made the braids like huge box braids. I showed the stylist a picture of when I got my hair done at this establishment a few years ago and she said they are micro. During my session she was rough with handling my hair. After I tried to contact the owner she never returned my call or email. Very unprofessional. Ill take my money back to MARYLAND!

*** BEWARE OF DISRESPECTUL OWNER*** I made an appointment 4 days in advance and called to confirm my appointment time 3 hours before I was to arrive. When I get there I walk into a room full of people and no one greets me. After standing for a while, I speak to the owner to let her know that I am here to get my hair done. She says “I dont have time”… no offer to reschedule, no explanations, no apology. I tell her that I had an appointment and she gets rude with me! She repeats with much more attitude that she doesnt have time to do my hair and that she didnt have time to call people when she got behind schedule. SO UPSETTING and embarrassing. Especially when I had an appointment and confirmed my appointment. I just saw no need for the disrespect. I guess she felt defensive and frustrated with her situation but no need to take it out on me! Anyway, my hair was busted over the 4th of July weekend. I am totally finished with African Queen Braid Weave.
