Everyone says this place is the place to get your hair done. I say otherwise. I remember coming here years ago pretty frequently to get my hair braided because my mom forced me . When I tell you they grip your soul and thoughts they grip!! I literally cried after getting my hair done cause it was just that bad. Do not come here if you are tenderheaded because that scalp gonna be tight for days! It takes like 3-4 days for my head to get used to the grip. But they do braid neatly. I just won’t come here again.

I tried them to get my hair braided not paying too much attention to the reviews since they were so mixed. And the estimate was right for Medium Box Braids being 3 hours and my hair was gripped properly, They also accept walk ins so I was able get taken as soon as I walked in. I also did see a few happy customers leave the shop for the simple cornrow hairstyles however when I got my braids my hair wasn’t tucked. When she cut the hair at the end she was cutting my natural hair, didn’t put mousse at the end, there was one awkward part/ box in the front I guess she didn’t feel like spitting it into two and didn’t apply hot water high enough on the hair so it looked a little stiff. I dont know. If you want your hair braided quickly, they accept walk ins but I’d rather give my money to someone whose going to do my hair the right way.

I came for a sew in for my birthday. I have never ever been so dissappotingly appalled. WHERE IS MY HAIR?! I brought in 30-26 inches four bundles of very expensive hair and I have not even three bundles of hair in. That’s 400$ gone!! Not to mention the see in job immediately came undone I haven’t even washed my hair and it’s un braiding. Any hairdresser would never let a client leave with such a mess and not only did they smile in my face but gladly took a tip and sent me on my way knowingly. ON MY BIRTHDAY. I feel the pictures are worth more than words. Because they are the only ‘known’ hair braiding place in reading they think they can get away with such unprofessionalism and cruelty I’ll never recommend anyone ever get so much as a trim at this location as no respectable hair salon would allow a client to walk away with such a disaster on her birthday of all days. Until something is done I will insure everyone knows of the type of business this salon is and how they treat their clientele, WARNING DONT WASTE THE EFFORT. As a woman of color I feel so distraught our hair is our crown and glory and should be worn with pride. . Ive never had my hair done and feel as if something was taken from me I walked in feeling like a beautiful young queen, I should brush my hair and have a glorious mane of curls. I spent the time and money to have my exact grade of hair and such a length not sold in town and this is what I’m given everyday I feel my pride and culture has been taken. Along with my sense of heritage and money… But obviously it was… About 15 inches, three bundles and 300$ was taken! If you only read one review please let me say and I will gladly answer any questions, dont don’t waste a thought or a penny to potentially have another terrible experience.

Okay so the wait time is normal without appointments, I waited about two hours w.e but to have the stylist rush my hair is disappointing! My back side is loose and hairs weren’t properly brushed in. A lot of gel was smacked on and tried to push the hairs into place which didn’t make much of a difference. I asked her to redo my left side and she refused said it would take too long to wait for someone else to do it when she is the only one who does two braids.
