Skin cancer is scary. Advanced Dermatology took great care of me from the first appointment to the surgical procedure to remove my cancer to the follow up appointment removing my stitches. From the moment I walked to the front desk and was treated with care and courtesy. I was not just a patient but made to feel that I was important. The whole staff are wonderful and are the epitome of customer care and support. Thank you all so very much…

Dr. Adams has the worst bed side manner ever. I asked to see the dermatologist instead of an NP or PA because when I had a mole removed with a shave biopsy the NP left a huge scar because she couldn’t be bothered to put a suture in it. I’ve had other moles removed and have had suture placed to reduce scarring. It obviously was told to Dr Adams that I requested him specifically because when he saw me he didn’t greet me and proceeded to go on and on about how he “practically has his own medical school” and he trained everyone in this joint. Then he ignored my questions about my moles and laughed when I pointed one out and was being very condescending. He then pointed out my acne (not what the visit was for) and then proceeded to prescribe me his “special cream “ with an antibiotic that I am allergic to. My allergy was already written in the chart. I waited to write this review but now I’ve had time to think about it. Run far away!!!

In my lifetime, I have never had such a poor experience with a doctor and overall office staff than my experience with Advanced Dermatology. I went in for consult regarding a questionable mole on my face. Dr. Adams was eager to remove it with little to no consult. He was short with me when I asked questions to gain better understanding of what was happening. I was not given proper care instructions, which resulted in an infection. I called a week later with concern of an infection but the nurse brushed me off. The only reason I was seen for the infection that day is because I decided to email them a picture so they could see how bad it was. All of a sudden they wanted to see me ASAP. There were plenty more issues in the next month, including the fact that it took 3 weeks, at least, to receive my biopsy results and culture results. I only received those results because I called and insisted on it. Many other issues I will not take time to describe here. All I can say is do not choose to be seen by Dr. Adams.

Extremely unprofessional, racist, and unethical place. They (Lauren & Brenna) ended up injuring me during a treatment and refused to take any accountability. When I asked to speak to owner/doctor regarding the experience, the admin (Sheri & Elizabeth) threatened me and made unacceptable racial comments. I requested for the owner Dr. John Adams to discuss the matter with me and he never did. I do not recommend this place to anyone. They are only in it to get your money, without even providing a safe practice. Stay away from this place.

I went in for a skin cancer screening and had two biopsies done. I was told I would receive the results in a week. It’s been over two weeks, and I haven’t heard anything. I called the office twice today to check the status of my results (once in the morning, once in the afternoon), and was told the nurse would return my calls. That has yet to happen. Clearly they need to hire more staff, because “the nurse” is either overwhelmed or not doing her job effectively. Regardless, this is no way to treat patients, especially when they’re waiting on such sensitive results. I am beyond frustrated with and disappointed in this office.

The staff at Advanced Dermatology Center is very professional and kind. I would recommend them to anyone who needs to have their skin care health examined. Their office is clean, organized and they are respectful of their patient’s time. (I went on my lunch hour and was out in 30 minutes). Thank you for taking great care of your patients!

Absolutely terrible!!!!! Daughter was given 1 regimen of medication. ~$175 visit. Called to say this was making her face irritated. They said she HAD to come in for a visit. Charged ANOTHER $175 to tell her, use it every other day. 3rd visit, NO MEDICATION change, no prognosis etc. Said, “We can’t help you,” and referred her to a dermatologist in Kansas City- 2 hours away! Charged ANOTHER $175. Doctor REFUSED to take my call. Caroline in billing said, “bill stands, sorry you’re not happy.” Unprofessional, and extremely overpriced for little to NO service

I had a great experience with Advanced Dermatology. The front office staff was helpful when scheduling my appointment and the providers were very understanding.

I’ve been to quite a few doctor’s offices over the course of my lifetime. Some quite good, and some mediocre. This place is in a realm of it’s own–Totally Abysmal. This place sees a lot of veterans who would rather not travel to the Topeka VA. The VA pays Dr. Adams for his services. You see this man once, on the first appointment. After that you will deal with his inept staff, who biopsy spots that even I could tell were not in need of a biopsy, and when returning for the follow up visit they can’t determine the location of that biopsy, and so set out to disfigure my body with liquid nitrogen in the myriad of spots where they think it might have been. They openly tell you that they don’t make “much” off of VA payments and that it’s more of a public relations and advertising thing. They spent $9 to send me a registered letter, which said that I should never return to their premises again—as if I ever would!
