I was a new mom when I moved to the neighborhood almost seven years ago. This has been my go-to spot when I had a moment to myself. I have watched the transformation of this salon into the spa experience it is today. To say I am going to miss the owner and staff who always welcomed me regardless of the time, my appearance or the craze of holidays, would be an understatement. Yesterday, may be my last time to visit with my nail salon family; however, I leave a seat open for another client who would like to feel the warmth, love, and spa quality treatments this establishment has to offer.

Adore Nails is tucked in the Huntsman shopping center. I stopped in this afternoon for a gel manicure. The ladies there were super sweet and accommodating and no one tried to push other services on me. The place was very clean and well lit and the chairs were quite comfortable. Prices were affordable. Nice to know they’re right down the street. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Went to this spot out of convenience and will never go again. I had gel nails applied on a Thursday and by Sunday morning, 7 1/2 nails had fallen off. Upon the first falling off I returned to the salon and had one nail repaired. The polish was not matched accurately and so now I have 7 nails with no polish, 1 1/2 nails with one color and another completely different. I would avoid this location even if it’s convenient for your life.

Worst pedicure I’ve ever received. The lady did not know what she was doing. She did things in a weird order and didn’t rinse products off my feet or legs. She rubbed oil all over my legs and never cleaned it off. Never used lotion at any point. And put the little flip flops on AFTER painting my nails and smudged the nail on my big toe and then wasn’t going to fix it, I had to insist that she repaint it. I left there with ugly toe nails that looked like a kid did it and disgusting oil all over my legs. So disappointing. I was hoping they would do a good job because of the convenient location. Never again.

I went last Tuesday for an event that I have tonight. I got Dip manicure on my normal nails. Thumb nail polish came off last night as if it was a fake nail. Just lost the other one and my event is in an hour! I’m in a completely different state and no time to go to another place. I’m livid. AVOID this place!!! And for the record I have short short nails bc my nails break easily so I don’t ever keep them longer than my finger tip. This was shoddy work. Dip is supposed to last 3 weeks not 72 hours.

Unfortunately I should have walked out of the salon when I showed a simple gel manicure picture of fall colors and they did not have the colors . A simple dark brown or nude is not at this location . They lack skills and can only do basic stuff . The ladies were pushing me out the way and being very aggressive to people coming into the store inquiring about getting their nails done . Don’t waste your money here . I have more anxiety leaving this store then I had coming in .

Sign said “open” and hours were prominently posted on their door. I walked in at 5:15PM on a Tuesday (closed at 7:30PM per their sign) but was turned away by a woman saying they were closed even though a person was getting a pedicure. Bizarre. Won’t be returning.

Adore Nails, formally Star Nails, is just amazing! They have updated and refresh the luck to make you feel like you’re in a Georgetown Spa! Many of the original nail technicians are still there to provide they’re wonderful services. While the prices have gone up slightly, it is well worth it. Highly recommend adore nails to previous Star Nail customers and new clients.

My first visit to the salon I asked to have nails removed and was asked to sit and wait. A white customer entered and said loudly “sorry I did not make an appointment and I understand if you can’t get me in, but I need a pedicure”. She was immediately put at a service desk and they begin working on her. The other customers there looked at me in disbelieve and I was shocked that just happened. I simply got up and left. Not remembering this incident, I went there a couple of years later and another white customer walked in after me with an appointment and was seated before I was without any explanation. Just sharing my experience so that other African Americans who might visit this salon realizes that this is a pattern.

I had gel nails done last night and one finger of nail polish has already come completely off. I work at an office desk so it’s not like I got into something that would strip my nails. I’ve never had this happen before and I’ve been getting gel nails for years. For the cost I think it should last more than a day…
