I’ve visited many times over the years, but lately it seems that each time I go it’s a little less good. I usually go for pedicures, and while the service is good the environment is not. It’s dark and there’s poor lighting. The poor nail techs are hunched over and inches away from my nails just to see what they’re doing because everything (wall paint, curtains, decor) is a dark maroon color. They have just 1 adjustable, small clip light to help them see. It makes me nervous that I’m going to get cut or clipped every time they have a sharp tool in the dark lighting. You can have a tranquil environment without it being a dark cave. And there seems to be a LOT of turnover, frequently. Almost always someone young and new doing nails.

Horrible experience. Booked a couples massage two months ago, because to get a Saturday appointment you have to book out that far. Drove 30 minutes to my appointment for them to tell me one of the massage therapists called out and they couldn’t accommodate our appointment. Things happen I get that, but no offer of a free or discounted future service or offer of a different service that was available for one of us since we were already there. Mind you this was a first experience for the person I brought with me and she was looking forward to it as was I since again it was booked out two months ago. Another two months out to rebook which is their fault so they should have been more helpful to get us rescheduled sooner. With gas prices so high I wasted my time and money to show up on time and wasn’t even valued enough as a customer to get a call before hand to let me know not to come. So I left 5 mins after I got there and was treated like my appointment did not matter. Will not be going back here, they lost my business. I also will not recommend them any longer.

Critical: Communication, ProfessionalismI made an appt for my birthday for an 85 minute massage and was so excited. I’ve been to Adagio before, and they’ve always been wonderful. Today was different. I waited for 30 minutes and then asked the front desk staff if everything was ok. A few minutes later one of the women came back to let me know my masseuse wasn’t even there. She had an emergency and would need to reschedule. I completely understand things happen, but after waiting for so long, you’d think they would have let me know sooner. I waited for 30 minutes and then asked the front desk staff if everything was ok. A few minutes later one of the women came back to let me know my masseuse wasn’t even there. If you’re looking for a good place to relax and visit, I would definitely recommend adagio. Local owned for years and in a lovely location in Barrington. Better yet, the food next door is amazing. Critical: QualityHad a group of bridesmaid and a bride and the foundation was not blended. There necks were a completely different color, and the eyeliner was patchy. We were told there would be a makeup artist per girl and there was only one, making us run late for a wedding! We will never go back.

Brides beware! We were at adagio for bridal hair and makeup, well booked in advance and confirmed that we had one stylist per patron and we did not. There is one makeup artist doing 4 girls and we will be leaving at least an hour later than scheduled. This is not the first time that we have shown up and they are short staffed without letting us know in advance. None of us will ever return here. Shame on you Jules.
