Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueThis incident happened quite some time ago but I was reminded of it so I wanted to share my AWFUL experience. If I could review with less than 1 star, I would. I did not make an official appointment at the time that this happened, but I did call ahead of time to make sure that they would have the time and the resources to dye my hair bright PURPLE. When I first arrived it was kind of obvious to me that this wasn’t the salon that I would have preferred if I had checked it out ahead of time (big mistake that I didn’t just leave immediately). I waited for 30 minutes to be sat down which was okay, I was technically a walk-in. I cannot remember who the stylist was that seated me but I’m not sure it would’ve mattered. The stylists were all very unprofessional. I got seated and explained that I wanted my whole head dyed a bright purple color. She walked into the back and came right back out with 2 bowls FULL to the top with dye. The dye didn’t even look purple, it looked black and brown… She did not come back out with hair bleach what so ever, and didn’t plan to use bleach at all which really bothered me because my hair is naturally black and I figured it would have been quite obvious that to achieve the color I wanted that my hair would need to be lightened first. I should not have to tell a professional stylist that my black hair needed to be bleached so that was my red flag to not continue with her any further. I told her as politely as I could that I had changed my mind and that I would rather not dye my hair that day because I wasn’t ready to not be natural anymore. Which wasn’t the truth because I really did want to do it but no longer was I comfortable letting her or any of them do it. I was just trying to be polite. After I told her that I changed my mind, she got kind of rude with me saying that I shouldn’t have come there and let her mix the dye up if I was just going to change my mind. I apologized but she insisted that I pay full price for wasting her hair dye. I apologized and said that I would really rather not have to pay if I didn’t get my hair done. She suggested that I let her cut my hair so she could charge me for at least something since I made her waste dye. So I reluctantly agreed because I loved my long hair but I felt bad… She then proceeded to give me the WORST, MOST UNEVEN, HORRIBLE, hair cut that I had ever received in my life. It was not straight at all and was multiple different lengths all over. It had an absolutely terrible shape. I tried to hide my anger and disappointment and thanked her nicely. I was charged over twenty dollars for getting my beautiful, long hair chopped off which looked like it was done by a weed-eater. I got in my car and cried all the way home. I hope this review helps someone to make a better decision of their salon choice.
