Stylist, Marie S. Did dredlocks in my son’s hair. She did a good job. These were starter locks on shoulder length hair. She was patient with him and very kind. As I waited for my son’s hair to be done, I observed that the stylists at this salon can do hair. I saw blowouts and styles, natural hair, long hair, short hair, and more all leave out looking good. The aesthetics of the salon are nice, staff appear professional and kind, and they had complimentary cupcakes. Hooray for this place! We will be returning!

Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI have nothing but good things to say about AFH and their stylist Byron. Byron has help me start and continue my sons loc journey. My son has enough hair for 3 people and every visit Byron takes his time and makes the experience just a pleasure. The first visit we literally closed down the shop because of the amount of hair my son has. But never did we feel rushed or a burden. Byron explained loc maintenance and what we need to do in between visits. So if your in need of a stylist to do your locs don’t hesitate to give Byron a call and tell him Maui sent you. The last two photos are how we started our journey and then Byron took over. I have nothing but good things to say about AFH and their stylist Byron. Byron has help me start and continue my sons loc journey. My son has enough hair for 3 people and every visit Byron takes his time and makes the experience just a pleasure. Critical: Professionalism, ValueThey get a one-star from me, this is not a salon, the experience I had in the chair was more like getting your hair done by your cousin and you wanna give her a play. The young girl Breonna had my closure looking a mess, I will attach the picture. I didnt realize how bad it actually was until I got home. When I went back as soon as they opened, the owner argued with me, analyzed the closure, pulling it up and making it look worse than what it did when I came in there. THEN told me I would have to pay $40-$45 extra on top of the $75 that I paid. first my first appointment was cancelled the night before at midnight when scheduled 2 weeks prior then was 30 minutes late to start. Asked for medium box braids and was given very thin and uneven braids some which lay the opposite direction and was told the hair style I wanted was possible then the lady started another client half way through the braiding process and continued an hour later was there 2 and half hours for boys box braids which my son was then left under the dryer for 30 mins for 8 thin braids. would not recommend and definetly not safe for your child alone.

Finally found a salon in South Jersey to maintain my platinum blonde pixie! Desiree Washington is my stylist. She is extremely patient and is attentive to my needs. She makes excellent suggestions that have proven to be beneficial to maintaining healthy hair. Super critical especially with bleached hair. Oh an she did my eyebrows too and also rocked that!
