Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueA friend recommended Abra Kadabra to me a couple months ago, and after being shown length check photos and the beautiful styles she received from her visits I knew I needed to set an appointment! I got a sew-in with a closure from Moriah done a few days ago and I’m very dissatisfied with what I got for $400.Moriah was friendly and certainly the conversationalist, however, there were too many concerning aspects of my experience. I arrived early and was still seen 15 minutes late. The hair bundle that I purchased separately from Abra Kadabra and provided a month in advance was somehow lost and got put with someone else’s. Not only that, but the hair was not dyed as promised. To add to my early onset frustrations she informed me that it would’ve been over $100 MORE to have the hair dyed when that was not at all discussed at my $35 consultation. When we discussed my closure ($110) she told me that it was included total of $250 for three sew-in, which it was not, and was also told that for the length I wanted I’d actually have to pay $130. Throughout me getting my hair done she was constantly on her phone.I understand having side hustles and other responsibilities, but I did not receive any styling at all to my sew-in and the closure part only got plucked. The baby hairs were not trimmed, plucked, or styled. The closure knots were not bleached and the front was left unsecured. My hair turned out very bumpy and barely any hair is actually sewn in. I have quiet literally half of my hair bundle in a bag. The hair that was sewn in was only trimmed, not styled.I find it hard to see the value in this when I’ve had my fully hair done and styled for a 1/4 of what I paid to Abra Kadabra Hair & Healing. When we went up to the desk to pay I thought we’d be going to the room to finish my hair with styling, but she rang me up, asked when I’d like to set up my next appointment (which I didn’t), and told me to have a good day.I’ve called multiple times and left messages to speak with the salon owner with no callbacks. I’m frustrated and displeased with this establishment. Especially as someone that typically does their own hair… I just wanted to do something nice for myself. I honestly feel like I was taken advantage of. This expensive unprofessional sew-in experience was definitely NOT worth the money. I tipped, but I will not be recommending this salon to anyone.A friend recommended Abra Kadabra to me a couple months ago, and after being shown length check photos and the beautiful styles she received from her visits I knew I needed to set an appointment!
