I have been getting powder dip manicures for a long time (elsewhere) and know it’s not the best for the health of the nail so decided to try a Dazzle Dry manicure after reading about it. I made an appointment with Jennifer at About Faces Annapolis. I spent over $60 to have the powder dip removed and the dazzle dry applied. The very next day, the paint on 3 of my nails was already chipping and by day 5 every single nail was either chipped or broken. I reached out and they were gracious, working with me to get back on Jennifer’s schedule to get them redone. I then got a text that Jennifer was out for five days and when I suggested another technician as I was leaving for vacation the line went silent. No communication since. I will never return to the salon and advise you to steer clear of them.

Shari did an exceptional job with my express facial. She explained the entire service step by step as she performed each procedure. Shari was willing to answer all of my questions and made me feel very comfortable with the service and the products she used. I’ll definitely be back for another facial with Shari.

We were there last Wed.9/21 and I thought if I let some time pass my opinion would soften, but it hasn’t. When we arrived we were ushered into the women’s lounge where there is no bathroom and robes that just about cover your bottom. I stepped over towards the shower to see if I had missed the toilet and stepped in over an inch of dirty water that had backed up from the shower. I went out to report it to the desk and they were very nonchalant about it. When I asked where the bathrooms were they said both their bathrooms were out of order. I should have canceled right then and there but thought they knew what they were doing. I was taken to a massage room which was chilly and much brighter than I am accustomed. The young lady giving me the massage wasn’t bad, but she wanted to have a full blown conversation throughout the session. To top it off the building is under construction and the very loud sounds of drills can be heard. When our hour was up we found out that all their running water had been turned off and they were shutting down. No apologies, no customer service to try and make things right…. I will never return and never recommend to anyone.

I went there to get a deep tissue massage for the first time with Jessica. My first impression was not good at all. Front desk needs to be trained more about customer service, They didn’t provide with a robe while waiting. They never explain about the massage I was getting, very brights light inside the room and no water offered after the service. My massage was good but all those other little things will make Me not to come back.

I booked a last minute wash, cut and blow dry here on the recommendation from my Aunt. I had Heidi and she was awesome! She was very easy to chat with, like chatting with a friend. And I normally can’t manage curls in my hair because I have thin hair but she managed to make curls look great on me! Really impressed and would recommend Heidi.

The Maryland summers are usually humid and my graying hair is a frizzy mess most days, unless I get a smoothing treatment . My fabulous hairdresser, Jessica Rolland, introduced me to Keratin Smoothing Treatments and now I can happily enjoy the summer without the frizz. She does a beautiful job and I wouldn’t go to anyone else to have it done. Jessica is by far the BEST HAIRDRESSER I have ever had. She takes the time to learn about me and my preferences; I have never been disappointed with the way she does my hair and she gets FIVE stars in my book.

I went to about faces yesterday for a hair cut/ full highlight/full(maybe partial) low light and ash toner. I am naturally a dirty blonde, but for the last 5-6 years of my life, I’ve had blonder hair whether its been because of the disgusting sun in I thought was cool to use in high school, the yellow/golden look or the ombre/balayage look I have been recently into for the past two years. However, I just graduated from college this May and I wanted a change for my upcoming job so I thought maybe I would go more highlights and ash/blonde and not balayage. I had Shelby Ervin as my stylist/color and I LOVED the end result! She did an amazing job and even spent time trying(and succeeded) to get the brassiness look from well water out of my hair. She was so friendly, talkative and made my hair exactly what I showed her from pictures I found online. She knows her stuff! If you are a blonde, worried or not sure who to have for your first time, go with Shelby!! I only say blonde because I saw the magic she did with my hair, I am sure she could do magic with any color :)!

So impressed with the staff at this location. I was visiting from out of town and called last minute to schedule appointments for myself and a friend. I’m not sure if I misunderstood the schedule or if they had an issue with staffing, but one of our appointments was very delayed and ultimately cancelled, and the staff worked quickly to adjust and offered a discount for the trouble. Ultimately, my friend and I had wonderful massages, got to spend time relaxing and catching up with one another, and the staff was the definition of grace under pressure. We left very happy and I would recommend this spa to anyone.
