The massage I offer is a very unique experience, taking one to levels of healing with a depth beyond the physical. My work is a combination of fluid, flowing, open-handed, long strokes. It is a combination of Esalen & Swedish. Light, med or deep tissue. The pace is slow as I allow your body to respond, shift, melt and realign to balance. It is healing the physical, tapping into the greater essence of who you are. Working on many levels is what gives a profound sense of well-being.

Ladies & gentlemen, I guarantee you will never, ever find a better therapeutic massage specialist than Denise, owner of “A Sanctuary for Healing.” I have used her services for well over 10 years now, and will continue to do so for as long as she’s in business. For nearly 40 years, I have had a very stressful job, which I manage through exercise, meditation, and therapeutic massage. Complaining to a friend about the inadequacy of those who billed themselves as massage professionals, she recommended me to and swore by “A Sanctuary for Healing.” Acting upon her advise, I booked a 60 minute session. Welcoming me into her private Santa Monica studio, my 1st impression was how sweet, warm, & considerate was (and is) her demeanor. She instantly put me at ease, overcoming my anxiety at being in close quarters with a stranger. And, then something amazing took place because I learned what makes Denise so exceptional and frankly extraordinary is her mastery of Swedish/Esalen massage. Though I try with all my might, I simply cannot express in words where I go when she uses her skills on me. Through her massage I am transported to a different universe; one I neither would nor could ever inhabit without her. All is peace and serenity and warmth. Her touch is strong but gentle, and her strokes languish on your body. A 60 minutes session seemed like an eternity. In a world that seems to get crazier by the day, a session at “A Sanctuary for Healing” transcends all your worldly concerns. At the conclusion of our now 90 minute sessions, I do not regret that my time with Denise is over, for the journey she took me on leaves me utterly and completely renewed. But what I did regret–until now–was not extolling to the world what a gift Denise is to her profession and to everyone fortunate enough to have been treated by her.
