Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, QualityI absolutely love A New Beginning! The staff is so wonderful and friendly throughout the whole entire process. From making a phone call to set up an appointment up until the moment you walk out the door, everyone is great. I have gone to this salon a few times in the past 3 years and They have done an amazing job making me feel safe with the pandemic going on. I also have to give the biggest shout out to Jess F. who works there! I absolutely love A New Beginning! The staff is so wonderful and friendly throughout the whole entire process. From making a phone call to set up an appointment up until the moment you walk out the door, everyone is great. She was patient, explaining how my hair grew and how the cut would look. I LOVE my cut and my hair. It’s stylish and easy to maintain. After decades with very short hair, I attempted to grow it out during COVID and HATED it. That is, until I found Jess. She was patient, explaining how my hair grew and how the cut would look. I LOVE my cut and my hair. It’s stylish and easy to maintain. She showed me how to blow dry and is endlessly patient with this grown woman who can’t even figure out how to blow dry bangs! Critical: Professionalism, QualityI previously left a five star review for this salon. I had been there once post Covid and had a good experience. I did get home and notice several chunks of hair that were 4 or so inches longer than the rest, which I had to cut myself… But I just chalked that up to the new experience of hair cutting with a mask on.My last experience however, was very different. I explained to the stylist that I wanted the same color and was happy with my length/was growing it out and only wanted the ends cleaned up (it was only 8 weeks since having a substantial cut so it really should have been less than half an inch). I don’t think the color processed long enough bc once it was washed out the stylist told me that they had decided to go a shade lighter for me, the color was fine so I didn’t say anything. The real problem comes from the cut. My hair was past my bra line and is now grazing the top of my collar bone, barely past shoulder length. I lost at least four inches. I also have layers that are shorter than my ears leading to awful frizz and a “mushroom cut” effect. My hair will not go up in a ponytail or braid, which is awful for me considering I work in animal medicine and am a runner/hiker. I contacted guest services about all of this and received a very curt response that they would cancel my next appointment. For the price you pay at this salon, there should be some consideration for the clients hair goals.The haircut was not at all what I was looking for, but this review is really for the poor customer service.Services: Hairstyling, Hair coloringI previously left a five star review for this salon. I’ve been getting my hair cut and highlighted by Courtney for about 9 months so far and I can’t say enough great things about her skills and how pleasant she is. The staff are all friendly and helpful, well-trained and knowledgable. Aveda products are of course fantastic. Highly recommend!

Her cut and color are of high quality because of her my hair looked fantastic for over 5 months during the lock down! She is especially fabulous and very knowledgeable about thick and ethnic hair for both color and cut.I recently had my hair done after an extended hiatus due to Covid. It felt amazing but more importantly I felt very safe here. I am extremely picky as I work in healthcare. They are stringent and meticulous about precautions. Everyone here is wonderful and will work with you to make you feel at ease. Treat yourself and do good by supporting a local business.
