I wanted to share my experience for everyone so that people know what they are signing up for. Yes I was a walk in and understand that appointments come first but the staff should still be respectful to everyone coming in no matter if they are a regular or not. This place had been recommended to me by multiple friends. So i decided to go and try it out never again! I got there at 1:30 signed in and sat down. Not a word said to me. No hey how are you or how can I help you nothing. I continued to sit and try to be respectful I watched people come in after me and get serviced and leave. Still not a word said to me at all. When I finally got called back he said “any chance maddi is still here” because he saw what time I signed in which is ridiculous. I said yes and he told me where to have a seat. Another 30 min goes by still nothing said to me. I saw a worker and decided to ask how long it was gonna be and he said at least another 30 min that’s ridiculous why did you call me back. I got frustrated and told him how long I had been there and he said “well we were busy” no I’m sorry nothing. He grabbed the appointment book and slammed it down saying I could look when I come back. No thank you. They obviously only want business from certain people. This was not the first impression I was looking for. I will not be back!!

I am in town for two days and decided to be adventurous and try a local nail salon to which I wasn’t accustomed. I am so glad that I did! I got a french pedicure and brought in my own polish for my fingers. The sweet young woman (sorry, forgot her name!) did an amazing job! Her attention to every single detail was not lost on me. I can’t stop admiring her work. She also was a great conversationalist–we talked about all sorts of things. What a great experience. Highly recommend!!!

I rarely get my nails done because I never feel the need to spend money on it. But last weekend my sister came in town for her 21st birthday and we wanted to treat ourselves. Since I had never gotten my nails done in Tuscaloosa, we just decided to try A Nail and Spa and we are so glad we did. We found out a full set was $25 which was cheaper than we expected so we signed in as walk-ins. The man who I believe may be the owner (he told us he had been doing nails for 20 years) was with someone else so the other woman there helped us pick out colors and told us he would be with us as soon as he could. When I sat down with him, he asked me if I wanted gel instead of acrylic because I had nice nails and he said it would be just as nice and cheaper. I agreed and a week later my gel manicure (which the woman ended up doing because I wasn’t getting acrylic anymore) still hasn’t chipped and looks great even though it’s grown out a little. My sister still got a full set and her nails looked awesome. My gel manicure was only $20 and it was well worth it. The guy talked to us and was very nice, and the woman was very helpful. I will definitely be going back the next time I have some extra cash and want to treat myself.

I’ve been going to A Nail and Spa for nearly 7 years. I have never had a bad experience. The service is always great and the employees are always nice and welcoming. There is never a reason for me to try to change nail salons. Every time I try I’m highly disappointed and decide that I will forever stay at this location. Totally recommend getting your nails, toes, and eyebrows done here!

Critical: QualityI’m at student at UA, the first time I went I paid $35 for a full set of acrylics, they looked very nice. I went today and the color I asked for was a very pale, bland pink; however my nails are an orange-pink and I paid $50. I have really bad social anxiety so I can’t go inside and do anything about it. 🙁

Lets start off with if I were able to give a rating of 0, I would. Experience was terrible. I made an appointment for my sister and I to get our nails done, she was getting gel nails and a regular pedicure, I was getting dip powder nails and a regular pedicure. Our appointment was for 6pm, we signed in at 5:54pm and were not seated until 6:57pm almost an hour past our appointment time. After being seated in the pedicure chairs we were not even acknowledged until 7:10pm and my sister didn’t even get a nail tech until 7:40pm. During my pedicure he also filed down the dip powder already on my nails and wrapped them leaving powder all over my hands which mixed with the acetone and adhered to my skin and he left it like that so now I have to figure out a way to get it off since it doesn’t come off with just soap and water. When I sat down to get my nails done, he continued to drill at my nails and grabbed my skin several times with the drill. He began shaping my nails one of which required a tip to be the length I wanted. He left debris under the tip when he applied it so now it sticks off of y natural nail and gets caught in my hair. During the dip process he realized he was doing it wrong for what I wanted so he ended up putting gel on top of the dip and then applying the chrome powder. In order for regular chrome powder to work you must have a white base and he had put a purple dip on my nails. When he said he was finished (its now 8:53pm) my nails looked terrible, a nail that I had asked him to fix because it had a large blob on it was still bulbous and was now missing polish where he “fixed” it, the side of my finger is stuck to my nail and it is pulling and painful, my nails are uneven, and my fingers re now painful and sore. My sister resorted to having a regular clear coat on her nails instead of gel because she didn’t want to sit there any more, and I don’t blame her. Overall we ended up having to spend $115 on an awful experience, I definitely will not be returning.

IF I COULD GIVE THEM A BIG FAT 0 I WOULD. I WAS CHARGED $112 JUST FOR A FULL SET AND PEDICURE. I WOULD NOT REFER THEM TO ANYONE ESPECIALLY IF THEY’RE OUT OF TOWN VISITING FAMILY LIKE I WAS. Pedicure, Gel manicures

I’d give them zero stars if it were possible. I went in for a full set of SNS nails and came out looking for a new salon. I had previously had them done at a different salon in another city. When he went to remove the old nails he used a drill to remove them which is not supposed to be used. He soon got tired of using the drill after one nail and then began to cut the tip and my real nail and rip the SNS and tip off with the clippers. This process was uncomfortable and severely damaged my real nails because he pulled layers of my real nail off. I thought I was choosing a glitter color however the color I received looked more like polkadots. He did not use the correct base coat so I was required to sit under a dryer for 10 minutes. I have nail glue all over my skin and lumps in the nails. I have never been more disappointed with a nail salon.
