We are located in downtown Gardnerville inside a historical cottage house built in the 1890’s with a little french Victorian flair. Our clients love the unique atmosphere and ambience we provide. We offer services such as hair, skin, nails, waxing, wigs, hair extensions, alternative hair solutions, Hempz, Loma and custom made consignment boutique items. We also cater to bridal parties and offer little princess nail painting parties. Our resident nail artists can design unique creations that display style and sophistication that is the essence of A La Carte Salon.

I wanted to get established with a nail lady in gardnerville and was sooooo disappointed!!!!!! The nail lady took 2.5 hours to do a fill and did not know how to apply polish, it was very heavy and lumpy! She charged me 55.00 and let me leave like this. At this time I had to go I did not have time to deal with the horrible job that was done (by the way she did not offer to fix them knowing they looked really bad). I called the owner for a refund and she did nothing to accommodate me. I did not want to go back to the same lady I saw and was willing to take a gift certificate or credit to see some one else. This is a horrible place to go and very bad customer service. Very disappointed in the owner of the salon, she did absolutely nothing to reimburse me. I had to have my nails redone and the person who did them could not believe the job was done by a salon!!!! At the end of the day my nails had cost me 75.00!! So frustrating!!!!! I would highly not recommend this salon!!!!

The ladies here are awesome. They treat you like you’re the only person in the shop, it’s truly a pampering experience. I recommend Suzanne for pedicures (she’s great at nail art!) and Kristi for hair. The photo is something I did for a cosplay and I showed Suzanne a pic of the character and she did a bang up job!

If I could give a zero star rating I would. I called and asked for someone good with nail art because I could not remember the name of the person I’d seen in the past. I also called prior to the appointment t make sure they knew what I was looking for. I ended up with a brand new tech that did not know how to properly do a nail fill or a pedicure. She did not take all of the previous polish off my toes which left them just looking dirty because you could see the polish underneath. Then she used a different color acrylic than I had previously on my nails which I mentioned at the time. She used the wrong tools and left my nail shape on some looking like a slide while other were just flat. I asked for them to be shortened which was done with a drill which is not an issue, but I had to request that they be filed straight which still didn’t happen. All the whole the owner was busy behind me talking to a client about past employees. Once this process was over which took about 3 hours and cost 95$ my nails where still tacky despite my having gel on them. I mentioned those before I left and was told by the owner if there were any problems they would take care of me. By Saturday all of the rhinestones had fallen off and I already had to settle for nail art stickers which I could have done myself. So I figured as they said they would correct the issue so I waited until Monday and spoke to Suzanne the owner and let her know all the issues and she said she would be able to fix it Thursday almost a week later which was u acceptable the nails were all different lengths making it impossible to type. I said Monday was my only day off within their business hours which she didn’t seem concerned with. I let her know I’d need to have them fixed at some point that day and asked for a refund and was told that the girl that did my nails already was out sick and she’d like to use the mistakes she made as a teaching moment for her new employee which I was not interested in. I would have had them done at a beauty school if I were. I ended up going to Walmart later in the day in Gardnerville and they did a beautiful job fixing it. Over the weekend people commented to me how bad of a job that was done on my nails. The next day I called and spoke to the girl that did my nails about the pro is doing she only offered a 20-30 percent refund. I was obviously unsatisfied with this result and posted an honest review on Facebook. The owner replied with insults and basically said I belong at Walmart and was lying about being a client for several years. The unprofessionalism of the owner is unreal especially for a business owner or even just an adult. I would never return to this establishment and let everyone I know about the experience I have had there. They clearly only care about money and not customers. I have also filed a complaint with the better business bureau.

Made an appointment for my daughter for a fill of her acrylic nails. 2 had broke off and we were expecting a form, not a fake nail that will pop off under the acrylic. It took 2 hours for a fill plus the lady was rude. The nails are uneven and when my daughter asked for her to even them out, she again just got attitude and literally told my daughter “I know what I am doing, you don’t have to keep looking at them”. I believe the service was over priced and took way too long. We don’t be back.
