I was looking to get two braids done very last minute- my hair was desperate. I booked an appointment for 9 am, my stylist did not show up until 9:45 am. I decided to give her the benefit of the doubt since she did such an amazing job with my braids. About a month later, I took my braids out and asked for a silk press style. Once again, she booked an appointment for me to go at 9 am and didn’t arrive until 9:45. Everything was fine until the very end, when she cut my bangs so incredibly short without asking my permission first. I had been growing my hair out for over a year and she chopped so much of it off. I give three stars because the staff really was quite nice, and my braids lasted for a while- but it was disappointed how late the stylist was both times.

Great atmosphere, all the employees are super nice. Only disappointment was that I just started dreads and was relying on knowledge of my stylist. They looked way better but when I got home and researched the style Donne to tighten my dreads I realized that the technique she used only works in ethnic hair, I am not ethnic and all the research Ive done said that the technique she used is actually going to mess them up. I even asked to make sure that it was somthing that could be sucsessfully done to non-ethnic hair and she reassured me that it was fine. I just wish I would have gotten more information before hand. I put my trust in someone and am kind of dissapointed I wasnt informed that it actually isnt the best- or even a good method for my kind of hair. BUT- she was the sweetest stylist I have ever met, she was so warm and friendly! She has an amazingly positive presence and is an amazing person. My situation does not define the barber shop, its a great place, with a great atmosphere and great people!

I booked an appointment and I was able to get in the next day great. Then things went down hill from there. In my over the phone consultation we spoke about a wash, retwist, and style. She said no problem. When it came to sitting down and getting my hair done the experience became very unprofessional. After my hair was washed the stylist asked if it was OK for her to color her own hair while I was sitting under the dryer. So while sitting under the dryer she proceeded to color her hair. Finally I was in the chair,starting to have my hair twisted. Only about a quarter of my hair twisted before she has to stop because it wast time to rinse the color out of her hair. At this point I had been there for about an hour. So it takes about another hour and a half to finish my hair. During that part where I had to leave to get clips from my house because she did not have enough to finish my hair. Mind you that this is a first time appointment and my locs are not even at shoulder length. Finally making it to to the dryer for another 30 minutes. So now it is time to style my hair. Come to find out she can not do the style that was requested. I was still expected pay even though this was the most unprofessional experience I have ever encountered at a hair salon.
