Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI love this salon! coming from a family of stylists, I had never tried any others…until A Cut Above. I will never go anywhere else! My hair isn’t the easiest but Melissa, effortlessly, makes me look fantastic every time. I never have to wait, they are always on time and through this pandemic they have followed every extensive guideline that our Gov has put forth. I feel totally safe going there. I have recommended a few people to this salon and I get a thank you text every single time they have an appt bc they are so pleased with the finished product. I love this salon! coming from a family of stylists, I had never tried any others…until A Cut Above. I will never go anywhere else! My hair isn’t the easiest but Melissa, effortlessly, makes me look fantastic every time. I have been going to A Cut Above for 20 years. I have thick, curly hair & Melissa has been making it look amazing all those years. Together, we pick out subtle color changes for every season & my hair always looks fresh & healthy. Linda, the owner, is a master stylist & many of my friends & family members entrust their manes with her. The salon is a good size so you don’t feel cramped in a tiny room breathing in chemicals. They also carry the latest hair care products & will only sell you products that will help your hair.

I have been going to ‘A Cut Above’ for years (since the mid ’90s). The people there are wonderful hairdressers and good people. They give their best to their clients and want them to have a pleasant experience. The salon is clean and welcoming. They have people who specialize in different skills but you always get great service. This has been a tough year for all of us with COVID19. This is one place I feel safe and joyful to go to.

If you have any questions about the service here, read the “about us” on their website…Every single thing Linda says there is absolutely true. I have been bouncing from salon to salon for years and found this one near my work and thought I’d try it out. I was nervous because I wanted to try something new with my hair, but was a little unsure of what I wanted. Linda (the owner) not only responded to my email personally and right away, but she got me in quickly, and she and her assistant Keara both stayed with me past closing and never once made me feel rushed. She sat with me for a good 20 minutes before starting anything and talked to me, looked through pictures, and showed me swatches. She is so knowledgeable and taught me things about hair that no stylist has shared with me in all these years. She is very passionate, patient, and super talented. As for my hair, she somehow took a mix of colors to create a really nice blend, so that now it’s almost like my hair changes depending on what light I’m in, how it’s falling, etc., and I just love it. Linda is also very sweet, doesn’t try to up-sell, and in fact makes sure to work within your budget to get the results you want for a price you can handle. I’m excited to go back to see what she does next time 🙂

Linda at A Cut Above is simply the best at what she does! I have been a client of hers for years, and I’ve always been thrilled with what she does to my hair! (People compliment my cut/color constantly!) Not only is Linda is experienced and well trained in the latest techniques and methods, but she also has a well-developed aesthetic sense that allows her to invision the color/cut/finished look that will best suit each of her clients. Her cuts are so well-done that they are easy to style at home, and her product and treatment recommendations are always spot-on. I have been seeing Melissa Rose for nearly 15 years. I used to travel to NYC and Short Hills to follow a very high end stylist for over 20 years. Unfortunately I was unable to continue a 2 hour commute and someone recommended A Cut Above in Lawrenceville. have never regretted this decision. I only travel 20 minutes, I pay a lot less for a very professional cut and Melissa is a genius when it comes to color! I would not go anywhere else.

I have been going to Linda for years. I really enjoy her and the staff at the salon. Linda is an expert at short trendy cuts and is able to adapt them to your individual facial features, so you always look great. The cuts are also easy to style at home. I frequently get compliments on my cuts and color. I am so happy I found Linda all those years ago.

Great salon without the pretention you feel in other upscale places. You pay for what you get! More affordable than many salons in the area and highly experienced technicians. I have a combination of curly/straight/wavy hair and both Linda and Melissa are great with that kind of hair. They recommend great products to deal with humidity, frizz, and dry hair. I recently had natural highlights put in my almost black colored hair and it looks very natural. Everyone says how much younger I look now. If there’s a problem with your hair taking to a certain dye (especially if you’ve had frequent treatments at different places), I’ve seen them call their Redken representative to discuss specific solutions right then and there.
