A Cut Above

Critical: Professionalism, ValueAfter many mediocre haircuts at “cheap” places, I was ready to go to a “real” salon where I could get a haircut from a seasoned professional and pay whatever for a great haircut. After looking around and reading reviews, I chose A Cut Above. I was scheduled with Jane, whom I had read was great. HA! First, when I came in, no-one greeted me. So I sat for several minutes until someone did. I waited some more until Jane was ready for me. She washed my hair (upon my request) and skipped the conditioner (unless it was a 2-in-1). She patiently snipped my hair for several minutes, then asked if I wanted to style it (even though it was included in the price), and if that was good. I said to cut more in the back and that, yes, I wanted to have it styled like the picture I had brought her. She a cut little more on the back, dried my hair a little, made it frizzy, sprayed something on, and scrunched my hair some more which I had asked her not to do. Upon my request, she put a little bit of gel to control the frizz because she didn’t have any cream. When I got home, I inspected my hair, and it is uneven. Her lack of effort and disregard for my satisfaction made me feel unvalued. Not even at Great Clips have I received such poor service and attention. After many mediocre haircuts at “cheap” places, I was ready to go to a “real” salon where I could get a haircut from a seasoned professional and pay whatever for a great haircut.
