I have been getting my hair braided for 20+ years and have been to several braiding salons and this is by far one of the best. Everyone was so friendly and professional. I called on Thursday and they were able to give me an appointment on Saturday. The prices are reasonable and my braids look awesome. Everyone that left the salon with their braids done looked amazing too! I will definitely go back.

Critical: QualityThey did not give me the style I asked for. I had a clear picture of what I wanted and the owner assured me she knew how to do the style AND told me what hair to buy. I left with ratty looking braids instead of refined ones. She didn’t know how to so the style, it took 6 hours and looked nothing like the picture. Shady services!Service: Hair extensions

I had hoped to like this establishment, but should have listened to the reviews. I was not miffed by the contact via text or the implication that the “owner” gave the impression she would be braiding my hair and when I showed up someone I had never talked with performed the service. I was reassured by the owner that the quality of the shop and stylist had changed with new management. I took the time to explain my concerns with previous encounters with other hair braiding stylist–braiding too tight, lack of professionalism, and overall disregard for customers. I was reassured this was not the case.

Been going for years with great service but this last time I went a new girl did my passion twists horribly. My natural hair wasn’t braided into the twists and no gel was used so after a few short days my real hair stuck out in the braids. Then she used 8 packs of hair on half my head for doubling in size. Had to stay additional time so she can undo and redo them over. My last passion twists lasted 3 months. These barely made it a month. A bit disappointing.

I have been going to Charm’s African Hair and Braiding ever since it got a new owner. They are very professional and take the time to listen to the way I want my hair to be done. I am always satisfied with my hair and I am able to keep it for a long time. My friends and even people I don’t know always complement me on my hairdo. Their prices are very affordable. I also like how the place is always clean. If you are looking for a place in Austin to have your hair done I would definitely recommend Charm’s African Hair Braiding.
