I’m not a review person, but I have to say something. I went to 75 West Salon 2 weeks ago, I wanted take out the orange color in my hair and make it blonder for the summer, and what I got was a black, grayish hair. I called them and I said that I was so unhappy with my hair, and they told me to come back in 2 weeks and they could fix it. After the waiting, I finally went and Lauren told me oh I’m sorry but I would need to charge you again, are you kidding me? I paid $300 already, I can’t give you more money. The day that she was doing my hair she told me to get a blow-out, I told her no, thank you. I wasn’t going anywhere that day, so I really didn’t want it, and she insisted too much, and I said okay, why? would you fix it If something happens? and she said yes!. The whole time that she was doing my hair she keep asking her partners about what to put in my hair, she looked that she didn’t know what she was doing. She also kept taking smoke breaks while working on my hair and kept coming back for her breaks smelling like cigarettes. I chose this place because of the before and after pictures I saw on the website however if you look at the pictures they took after I was done vs the picture I took when I got home they look nothing alike. You cannot trust any of the pictures that they show on their website as the ones they took for me were BS. See my pictures below. Its really false advertising. I paid $300 for my hair to look worse. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DO NOT COME

I was referred to this salon by a friend and after seeing the rating here I thought it would be a good experience. I could not have been more wrong. The girl at the front desk was not friendly and inviting at all. There was a male stylist who was obnoxious and clearly thought he was a gift to women around the world. It took a very long time (20 minutes or so) for me to be taken to a chair even though I had an appointment. The girl I had cut my hair seemed nice, but inexperienced. The tools she used were not from the blue sanitation liquid, but straight from her drawer. I swear I saw her pull hair out of the scissors! The place was not clean either. There was some sort of case on the floor by a chair that was obviously not in use. The whole station and case had a layer of dust. While getting my cut, a woman came to my stylist with foils in her hair asking when she was going to be checked because it had been quite a while. My stylist told her to hold on and continued cutting my hair until she thought better of it and got another stylist, who was having her SECOND cigarette, from outside. Then they had a discussion about one of the sinks, the only one available, and how it backs up and to just do it quickly. I hope that lady’s hair didn’t burn off. This place is trying to have a high-end salon vibe without the high-end service. I will not be back.

This is a top notch salon & I would highly recommend to anyone. Lauren is a fantastic stylist & my companion has received excellent services from both Cristina & Katie. Everyone at the shop really knows their stuff & it is always a pleasure to watch them work their magic on all of their clients. My first visit to Lauren was based on online reviews & I have no regrets whatsoever. The best salon in Somerville!

All kids are different, so I can only speak for my 2 and 4 year old boys. They often cried or simply wouldn’t want to sit still for their haircuts at other locations…it was a battle. Now that we found 75 West Salon, things changed for the better. Brian and the entire team there are amazing with my boys. They love going to get their haircuts and they come out looking stylish and smiling from ear to ear. I highly recommend them. Oh and my wife gets her hair done there as well 🙂

I went there purely because the salon was in walkable distance from my apartment. The decor was very nicely put together. I was given Courtney at random… she was so friendly and had me walking out of the salon feeling amazing. Her passion as a stylist exudes through her work. My haircut is perfect – I will be returning for blowouts and haircuts xo
