This is not the first time I’ve been here but is the first time I’ve been here as a client. Firstly, as I walked in, I was greeted by several smiling faces as most of the ladies looked up to great me. The location was very clean, well lighted and just an overall great salon atmosphere. My stylist, Jenny, did a great job with my ‘not always easy to deal with hair.’ I left with the exact style I wanted! I got a shampoo and conditioner included which was lovely.

I have waited a week or so before writing this review because I really struggled since the person that did my hair at 20 West was very sweet! I feel obligated to let others know about my experience because my hair looks pretty awful. The hairstylist helped correct a bad haircut from a prior experience (I’ve had quite the month) and did a good job fixing the mistakes from the previous haircut, however the color is just very bad. As you can tell from the pictures. It had ledges, the color is very splotchy and uneven. I was going for a balayage look, and it didn’t turn out that great. I did call back and I scheduled an appointment with the hairstylist, but I ended up going back that day and caught her before she left because I was super bummed about my hair and didn’t want to go all weekend looking like that. The pictures below are after she corrected it. She applied Redken shades…it helped but as you can tell, still not good by any means. I would be careful about going here if you want that balayage look. I can’t speak for all of the hairstylists but I couldn’t believe that after going back and pointing out certain areas, that she didn’t offer to have me come back the following week to really correct it. I’m not trying to create a stir, just leaving an honest review in the off chance that it might help someone else.

Been going here for years. Many great services offered. Owner still works in shop daily to show her dedication to her salon. At least 4 different artists to choose your style of cut. Best shop in Huntington!

My wife has thinning hair and recently got a wig. Very helpful staff got her in for styling and cut on wig. Emotional time handled very professionally and courteously. Kristy said ” very nice to meet you and be of help” and declined payment. Such a special girl! Very nice place!

She said she’ll have me come back and give me a discount (which I never got), and the photo I showed her isn’t even close to the same style that I wanted. I know the colors may not be the same which I understand, but the way I wanted wasn’t even close. It made me feel really insecure because people kept commenting how it looks really light in the back and in the front is dark, which I agree with. I wanted dark hair with blonde- ish ends and showed her a pic. Jenny is an awesome person to chat with, but I will not be going again. I returned to the Midwest 8 years ago and Megan by far has given me the best hair cut in those 8 years… People are so bad at fades I resorted to doing my own hair for several years! Down to earth and does a great job! Go to 20west if all others have failed you. Trust me!
