Wanted to try this place out, was 10mins late for my appointment. I understand they have a schedule to follow, but the lady by the front desk cancelled by appointment and asked me to come back at a later time. Didn’t even give me the option to wait there. “We don’t have time to cut your hair” was her response. Wasted 40 mins driving to and from the place.

Pretty overpriced and you need to make appointments or if you come on Saturday afternoon – they might just say “we are fully booked” (men do not really make salon appointments, so maybe an option for those pretending to work at home / future UpWork 1099 contractors).

Katie was great! Very friendly, very professional and I got a great haircut. Yes, it costs more than your budget hair whacker joint, but they didn’t just deliver a haircut. It was a haircut experience, complete with hot stone massage, hairwash before and after and a delightful conversation. I’m not from this area but you can bet that the next time I’m in Naperville, I’m going to visit Eighteen Eight!

This is truly my new favorite place. To get my haircut. I’ve tried almost all places in the area for a haircut and this is my new place. Think of your wife’s salon then it’s just guys in there. No gimmics like sports clips and the barber/stylists actually know what there doing.

For some reason people keep complaining about the pricing. The prices are very fair (if not cheap) given the expertise (about $36 for a meticulous cut and fade). Furthermore, they take the experience to the next level by providing a robe to change into to ensure that no loose hair gets anywhere on your shirt. Brilliant idea! I’m just sad I can’t take this place with me back to San Francisco where a plain haircut is at least $50.

Hayden did an amazing job with my haircut and beard trim and will certainly be returning to see him soon. The aesthetic of the salon is more upscale and does cater to those coming from their office during lunch or directly after work with a replacement shirt during your cut. They do offer drinks such as coffee and soda, one suggestion I would have is the addition of an alcoholic beverage while you wait like a bourbon or beer, even if it were to cost extra. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I look forward to returning.
