My wife and I were visiting Burlington on a New England road trip and decided we needed some massages. I quickly found Cynthea’s in a Google search for couples massages so we booked. Shahla and Jamie were great! Our massages were very relaxing and much neeeded!

I am going to rewrite this review as I had a much much better experience at Cynthea’s Spa! I am very happy I decided to give Cynthea’s Spa another go because I just found my new favorite wax technician!!! I had a Brazilian wax done a couple days ago by Jamie. Can I just say I absolutely loved this experience!!! It was super quick and minimal pain. Jamie was so personable and friendly and extremely informative about the whole process. She is the first person I’ve ever had get every single hair, esp. in such a short amount of time! I would strongly recommend to book all your spa needs with her. She pays attention to every single detail and is just awesome to be around! I will definitely be returning and booking all my waxes with her, thank you Jamie!

The first time I went here it was great. Jamie is great at everything- from brazilian waxes to massages. Since then I haven’t been able to connect our schedules for a wax so I’ve had to book with Shala. I have a high pain tolerance and I’ve been getting these waxes for a years but with her she just moves so quickly. I have left Cyntheas in so much pain. Bleeding on multiple occasions and with tears in my eyes. Its like she’s just trying to get you in and out as quickly as possible without taking the time to understand the client! Now that I’m leaving the area I have far more options for waxing. I 100% do not recommend waxing with that lady.

I am writing a review in the hopes this will help Cynthea and her team once she can reopen and we can all return to enjoying the small things in life. For me one of my small things was a treatment at Cynthea’s spa once a month. It was part of my self care. As a busy working mom, it was hard to find me time. I have found booking a treatment during my lunch or at the end of my day, does not fill me with guilt about “leaving” my family. I get waxed, facials, messages, and other treats. I am also looking at the specials each month. I recommend you stop by. The team is very nice, professional but also feels like I’m in the company of friends. I never feel over sold or pushed into products at the end of my appointment. I look forward to returning as soon as it is safe and healthy for us to do so.

I went to get a Brazilian wax yesterday. The lady who did my waxing was super nice but her work was not up to par. She seemed in a rush and would pull the wax strip which ever way she pleased. Even though I was the last patient of the day she should have taken her time to do quality work.The next day I could run my hand over the supposed to be hairless area. But to my surprise I actually still had quite a bit of hair still there. I have blond hair so you can’t really see the hairs. But you can easily feel them. I’m pretty disappointed.

This is the second time my boyfriend and I went for a couples massage at Cynthea’s Spa and it was amazing! We almost fell asleep! My boyfriend says “the ambiance was good” and I agree! I liked that we could get our massages side by side and the massage therapists were wonderful and professional. Thank you, Shahla and Melissa!

I didn’t have that great of an experience here. I am going to list some reasons why. Locating the office was a maze. Go in the front door. Up the stairs then around this corner and turn here. Secondly, They place is small. Third, It is not up to date. Fourth, it was too hot. I was overheating. Fifth, my waxing experience was not pleasant. And the woman doing my waxing couldn’t have cared less. I felt like I could have had a better experience as far as product quality and respect for feeling covered up the best possible. I was given a small square pad to cover myself with for my brazilian, brows and full leg wax. I didn’t receive after waxing care instructions. And there was patches that were missed. Along with a poor waxing technique used. I honestly will never go back. I knew my experience was poor but I didn’t realize that I had this poor of an experience until I went to Essex Resort Spa and they knocked it out of the park.

I went to Cynthea’s for an eyebrow wax because one seemed more uneven than the other and with all the good reviews i had hope that she could fix the problem. Not only was it overpriced but she didn’t do anything special that another salon couldn’t do. She also bashed me out on my makeup that was too full coverage for her liking.. and kept recommending MAC for my makeup needs after i said i used a drugstore foundation. I thought it was very rude since all i came for was a wax and not a makeup consultation. Very bad experience, I wont be coming back.
