I made my first appointment at Winslow Barber Company on my quest to find my new barbershop since moving to Bainbridge this year. I tried to get in on Saturday, but they were fully booked, but they did give me an appointment for Sunday, even though they are normally closed. My appointment was with Vickie who has a lot of solid hair cutting experience at their other shop in Silverdale. I felt like she spoiled me with almost a one hour cut which ended with a hot shave of my neck, a great added touch. My cut is perfect and I think they set a really high bar for the other shops in the area. They have two large TV’s, a full-size pool table, and even a PacMan game. The price was $40 which I thought was fair and given my satisfaction I even left a 30% tip.

I had my hair cut by Eli during a lunch break, he was very nice and professional. He did a great job of asking me what I wanted and did it in a timely fashion, however, when I got back to work it was obvious to my coworkers that my sideburns were not even… confirmed myself in a bathroom mirror. At $40 a haircut (before tip) I hoped for a little bit more precision. (I usually cut my own hair and thought to get a professional one for my friend’s wedding, looks like I’ll end up having to mess with it myself still).

Called in to see if they were available for a walk in. I was told yes after the next appointment and to come on in. Went in was told to take a seat, 20+ minutes later they asked if I had an appointment. Told them I called about a walk in and they said oh we don’t have any time that anyone can fit you in today. Would have been great to start with that rather than tell me to come in and sit wait for no reason.
