Many have asked how I came up with the idea of V’s. The answer lies in my fond memories of going to the classic barber shops for a hair cut with my dad while growing up in Tucson. I keenly remember the sights and smells of Nick’s Barbershop and the real experience of being a boy among men. It was a place that we could go together and do more than get a hair cut. It was a place that made lasting memories. My son was born in 1994 and I went looking for a barber shop that would let me make memories with him. I did not find the local barber shop that I was looking for in Phoenix, or anywhere else, so I decided to open one. The service was absolutely horrible. I have never seen a staff that does not care about their customers more than the current staff at this v’s location. A week ago, I called to schedule an appointment. I was on the phone with someone who would interrupt me mid sentence to talk and laugh with someone else in the shop. It took me over 5 minutes to place an appointment and when I showed up the next day, he had not scheduled me at the time I had asked for. I took it as a sign to wait a little longer to cut my hair. I went in today for a 12 o clock hair cut and was there 5 minutes early. I was checked in and offered some beverages so I sat down to wait for my Barber to finish up his previous cut. When he finished up, he completely skipped over me and called up someone who not only got there 10 minutes after me but also had a later appointment than I did. When approached, he said no one told him I was there when clearly I was sitting there and was checked in. He offered no solution and said he would just get me in after he finished the cut he put ahead of me. I proceeded to go to another shop and got an amazing haircut when the barbers at V’s disappointed me with their terrible service. For a 30 dollar haircut service should also be a priority and clearly is not at V’s

I’m not after the frilly things, like free beverages or things like that. If you aren’t confident with a cut when the client asks you. Don’t start the cut! It makes for a better client experience. I now have to pay a more skilled barber to try to salvage what is left of the hair on my head. Also a barber shop shouldn’t be using a foil cartridge shaver for clean up! But I got a shoulder rub! Woohoo!
