If you love a good spa day, then the Ritz-Carlton Spa Bachelor Gulch is the place for you! It’s a great option for a little rest and relaxation while staying in the Beaver Creek/Bachelor Gulch area. This spa has a nice cozy atmosphere, with a mountain vibe, and the staff here are very professional. I got a Relaxation Massage while I was there, which started with a heat pack placed on my back while the masseuse worked on my legs, that was wonderful! I felt great afterwards, and loved how at the end of the massage they leave you with a little treat to enjoy, mine was a chocolate with some fresh berries.

BE ADVISED. The Ritz Carlton in Bachelor Gulch is dog-friendly, not dog-safe. Our Shiba Inu was violently attacked in the elevator, bitten with lacerations to his chest and neck upon our arrival by the resident St. Bernard, Bachelor. Security management offered our dog a treat, a frisbee, and a water bowl. We also received a $400 credit on our bill for the inconvenience. Also, be aware that large dogs are off leash on the mountain near the back patio. Our trip was supposed to be a wellness week but it ended up being a vigilant, stressful time recovering.

When you first arrive to the spa, you are greeted by friendly staff that will book treatments (facials, massages, scrubs) and give you more information about activities such as yoga or snowshoe excursions. There is a lovely retail area with body products or clothing. They showed me through the female locker room giving me a tour of the gorgeous locker rooms, showers, relaxation room with snacks/fruit-infused water, wet/dry saunas, jacuzzi, cold plunge, and co-ed rock-lined hot tub with cold face towels/cucumbers. Beautiful space! I felt so pampered.

Not exactly what I would expect from “The Ritz”. First, when I asked for a different size robe, the lady said “that one should fit.” Embarrassing! Don’t argue with me, just give me the size I want. Next, every single towel smelled like old oil. Did they wash them with the kitchen towels? Unacceptable! Some guests were offered complimentary champagne. Where was my offer? Inconsistent! Small thing but, lotion was empty. Thankfully – the therapist was great. As a teacher who was excited to go The Ritz and okay with splurging $350 for one service, you would think an established hotel would have their act together.

We didn’t stay here but would love to sometime. The premises are gorgeous — all dark wood and tasteful lodge warmth. The spa is large, luxurious, and far superior to anything in Vail. Hot and cold springs are refreshing. Service is friendly and welcoming.

Critical: QualityThis is a beautiful spa but prices are not reflective of the restricted services due to COVID. If I pay $350 for a massage I want to spend some time using spa facilities not an in and out massage.
