Critical: Professionalism, QualityI want to warn everyone against their poor policy and the unprofessional attitudes of the people who work here.I requested a color correction and I was very specific about the result I wanted. Megan repeatedly reassured me that she would be able to achieve what I was asking for in one session. When the day of the appointment came she was in a hurry just to get me out the door. I came home and saw that the blending was patchy and after 2 washes my hair was bright orange. I contacted Meghan letting her know that I was unhappy with the result I got for $200. She told me to come in for a redo which would cost an additional $50. I trusted her enough to give her a second chance. After I came home from the redo session my hair dried to reveal a hideous mess of ashy grey stripes mixed in with brassy orange patches. I shared my pictures with Meghan and told her she did not do a good job and that I could not come back in for another $50 redo. She said she would discuss the issue with her boss and get back to me. She messaged me back to let me know that their policy only allows redos, for which the client must pay $50, and no refunds. I was devastated because I paid $250 for something that looked like it was done at home by an amateur. Megan disappeared after I told her that she should’ve been responsible enough to tell me what I wanted could not be achieved in one session. I went back to the salon to talk in person but she was not there. Instead, the salon owner, Janelle, had the nerve to call me that evening threatening to call the police on me if I tried to see Megan at work again. First, a client should never have to pay for a redo to fix what the stylist did wrong. Second, the stylist should not run away from their mistakes and hide behind a hostile owner. Positive: Cleanliness, Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, ValueI have been going to Britney for over 8 years now!!! She is not only my hair stylist – she cuts and styles my two girls as well!! That is not an easy task – my oldest has extremely curly hair and she handles it with grace and Isabella always leaves feeling fantastic! The salon has such an amazing environment and the minute I step in I feel like I’m at home. I have been going to Britney for over 8 years now!!! She is not only my hair stylist – she cuts and styles my two girls as well!! That is not an easy task – my oldest has extremely curly hair and she handles it with grace and Isabella always leaves feeling fantastic! The salon has such an amazing environment and the minute I step in I feel like I’m at home. I have only left feeling beautiful and love recommending all my friends to come and experience the Color Bar Salon!

Critical: Professionalism, QualityIf I could give this 0 stars I would. I went yesterday to get my hair done by Briana. My hair was a medium/light brown from a box dye I did a month prior (the name of the dye was brass free light brown by natural instincts). My natural hair color is a light brown (shown in the picture with the man). My hair gets coppery/reddish from dyes so I said I wanted that brassy-ness gone & to have my hair a bit brighter around my face. I asked for everything to be subtle and blended. I asked overall to be a bit lighter but not blonde– I showed the pinterest picture below and said I liked how blended and sandy it was. I said I liked hilights being barely noticeable. Briana told me the best route was to cover my color with a dye to get rid of the brassyness and she would choose a color to match my roots. She said she would add some toned hilights around my face and some throughout. I agreed to the plan. The base color she chose was basically BLACK and this supposedly was supposed to match my natural light brown color? The highlights around my face are RIDICULOUS. I can’t even pull it back to hide the bad coloring job as you can see below!! Not only are the dye job & hilights awful, but I left with dye stained all over my forehead which I had to remove myself when I got home and I have a CHEMICAL BURN about an inch long on my temple. For $200+ I should not be left with awful color, an injury, or dye stains on my face. Briana never even asked me my name or asked how I was. She didn’t speak to me the entire appointment after deciding on the hilights and dye plan. I figured she was in a bad mood, but apparently she just likes to f*ck up client’s hair. I emailed the owner pictures and she refuses to acknowledge my chemical burn or the dye stains all over my face. She offered to fix my hair herself with a balayage and toning down my hilights for free; however, she will only admit that the hilights are a bit much. She will not admit that the almost-black hair dye choice was not necessary and, again, refuses to address my burn or dye stains. I believe I should be refunded & the owner is refusing even a partial refund. I even tipped $30. Of course it is my choice to not go back and allow the owner to try to fix my hair. I appreciate the offer but I am very untrusting of this salon and refuse to damage my hair even further (especially if it still looks bad and I’ll have to go somewhere else to get it fixed again. 3 dye jobs in a week does not sound like a good solution). If the owner at least acknowledged physical injury and poor professional behavior of her worker Briana, I may have given her a shot to fix it. I was recommended by other girls to try this salon, who all have BEAUTIFUL hair, and everyone else in the salon appeared to be getting great work done while my hair was being mangled! I got a cut and color by Janelle and she was absolutely amazing! Everything is exactly what I wanted and she was so great to just talk with! I highly recommend this beautifully set up salon.
