I took my daughter Amora here to get her hair braided today by DJ. This is the second time she’s done it and she does so good it looked even looked better then the pic I showed her of how I wanted it. The salon was clean and pretty and they were so professional and nice to my daughter we got so many compliments on her hair on the way home.

Let me say my daughter hair is cute but they are very unprofessional, they have adult conversations in front of the kids and now even though the website says 65 for braids and beads with hair added she waited til she was done to say oh the owner didn’t update the prices and it’s 80 for braids and beads foh. Never going back smh another black owed business going bad do to people being dumb.

Overall, my daughter’s hair was washed and braided very nicely. Speed of service was on par for what we had done, and the salon was clean and generally welcoming. However, the stylist literally fussed at my 6yr old daughter the entire time to “sit still, bend your head down, stop moving…” etc. I will not call her by name because overall she did a good job. But as a kids’ salon, I did not expect to hear the stylist complain to my daughter during the entire two hours. She was not mean, (she did seem annoyed the whole time), but her tone was very concerning and I did not enjoy hearing that. I do understand that you have to speak to the child so you can do your job, but two hours of fussing in a salon designed to service children left me feeling uncomfortable. I may go back but will definitely try a different stylist.

They’re only getting one star because you have to. This establishment is extremely unprofessional. We wanted to try them out for my nieces birthday. Drive all the way here just to find out we can’t be serviced. “The books should’ve been closed, there’s no one to do them today” is what we were told. Then asked if we could come back tomorrow. Her actual birthday is tomorrow, no we can’t come back. That is a mess up on your end not ours. Then you weren’t even apologetic about the situation. My 3 year old niece left crying. Go to uber nails in Ferndale. They were extremely professional, got us in and out!

This use to be a great place for kids, I felt like they catered to the kids. Kid friendly music playing,snacks and nails done. But over the years the good braiders that cater to kids seems to be leaving. Now the atmosphere is just basically getting your hair braided, you have stylist constantly making negative comments and hurting the kids feelings. One in particular Carlita) always have something to say about another client(child). My Daughter told me please don’t leave her in there by herself and it’s because of how uncomfortable she made her felt and again my daughter was not her client. I truly love the concept making girls feel beautiful and the braiders are talented but if you don’t like or have patience for kids,don’t work here. Also if you can constantly make comments in front of parents, you have no respect and who knows what you say when we are not inside. Owner look at your staff read these concerns and take them seriously.

My daughter is very Very very tender headed. We have been asked to leave other salons but stylist Brandi was up for the challenge and very patient and willing to do her hair again. My daughters lemonade braids still look good 2 weeks later. Very pleased! And shop was clean
