Decent haircut for the price but the online check-in needs work. Checked-in with a 115 min wait, waited almost 3 hours to get a text message letting me know the stylist will be ready for me in 15 min. I hurry up and get there within the 15 min window and check-in only to find out I still got 2 people ahead of me with a wait time of 30 to 45 min. I think this defeats the purpose of early check-in if times are not correct even after confirmation.

I have gone here twice. Both times I think they did a good job on the cut. I would give both 4-5 stars. I give 3 stars because of lack of communication. When I went in the 2nd time they didn’t ask what services I wanted and just did the highest costing one. I had thought that it would be the same services as last time since she knew what cut I got last time. I did get the services and the MVP was very relaxing so I did pay no problem. I would recommend getting a haircut here because they do a good job BUT MAKE SURE YOU LET THEM KNOW AHEAD OF TIME WHAT SERVICES YOU WANT.

I just moved to Minnesota a month ago and I never had a haircut here. After researching so many haircut salon, I ended up finding Sport Clip Haircuts in Shoreview, MN. So, at first I was nervous that how my haircut would look after having a haircut at new place, but Alicia did a great job. She was friendly and very gentle with my hair and she asked what I am getting today and she exactly followed what I explained to her and I got what I really wanted. I also liked that she was not rushing during my haircut, no fast moving trimmer, scissors, hair pulling, etc. Instead, it was relaxing and she was not pushy for hair products too like the other hairstylists that I had experienced in the past. I was concerned about the sports theme being a gimmick to pass off bad haircuts, but the stylists did a great job on both of my kids’ hair. A little too sales-y in the middle of your’cut, they ask if you want a shampoo, a service often included elsewhere at no additional charge, and it suddenly becomes an upsell with no mention of the price increase. To be fair, you also get a massage gun treatment with the shampoo and rinse tier. 5 stars if they would be up front about the upsell.

I only come here for Brittany, the architect of my life-changing hair makeover back in 2015 that has kept me coming back since. She not only changed my style dramatically, she also taught me how to maintain the look on my own between cuts. I now drive 2 hours to get my hair cut because she refuses to move to my new town. After one time at Sports Clips I was sold. Brittany was absolutely terrific! If FINALLY getting a great haircut wasn’t satisfaction enough, she told me about the MVP package so I figured I would give it a try. Shampooing includes a hot towel on the face in a massage chair! And if you get Brittany, its like you are getting a literal head massage for free since she actually knows how to apply pressure like she’s a masseuse! Complete game changer compared to other places where its essentially a car wash… soap, rinse and done. If you can stay awake through the shampoo (close call for me), you go back to the chair for a shoulder massage. Once again, if you choose Brittany, you get a SECOND professional massage! I am a firm believer in visiting a place at least twice before writing a review. I’ve been here three times now. The first time I was helped by a gal in her late 20’s (early 30’s maybe?) and she did a decent job and was decently friendly. I’m a simple man so I’m easy to please. That was around January or February 2019. I would have given her four stars. My second time was back around April 2019, it was a rather older gal who was very skinny and very tiny, she looked frail. She did an awful job (sorry to be blunt, but it’s true). It felt like she could barely hold the weight of the clippers, and the haircut was rough and unpleasant as she buzzed my hair, especially since I have an uneven skull after my traumatic brain injury. I hope she was just having a very off day. I would have given her Zero stars. Today was my third visit, a gal by the name Diane (I have memory issues, but I believe that was her name!! Sorry if I heard wrong!). She did an AMAZING job. Her touch was very soft and gentle, listened very well to what I requested. She offered to trim my eyebrows as well. I decided to roll the dice and asked her to trim my beard slightly, she touched up my mustache, trimmed the wild straggly hairs off my beard, and did a bit of shaping too. I love my beard, I’ve had it for 8 years now (different lengths, currently about 7-8 inches long), she did such a remarkable job. I would give her a solid five stars. I normally go to a barber down in Saint Paul near Highland Park for my beard. Now I have a second stylist I will be seeing that I trust with my beard. She is very sweet and friendly as well.
