I’m just going to be honest! As a woman of color sometimes it’s uncomfortable to go into salons or spas ran by white women. I’m not trying to make this about race!; And it won’t be! I had the best experience today at Spa MD. Soon as I walked in the door I felt welcome. I got a facial today and it was wonderful! Not only did they leave me with my skin feeling fabulous!; I got great information on how to care for my skin better. I brought some great products and got some great “free samples”! Will be back! I was referred to Maury at Spa MD and I’ve been very pleased with my experiences! Located in the beautiful & historic Blair Arcade building, the spa itself is very clean and inviting. Maury took her time with me, listened to my concerns, and answered all my questions. At no time did I ever feel rushed or like I was taking up too much of her time. A week later I returned for microderm abrasion with Stephanie, and I cannot recommend her (or microderm) enough! Stephanie is genuine, kind, and extremely knowledgeable. I highly recommend Spa MD!

Last night was my first time at Spa MD. Reception was very friendly, their offices professional and inviting, and the prices reasonable. I got Botox and lip filler done by Lynn Taival. She listened patiently to my concerns and my esthetic goals. With zero judgement or rush, she took the time to explain everything to me. I was quite anxious about the filler, having never done it before, but Lynn being so calm and proficient really settled my nerves. Having recently moved to town, I’m happy to have found my new go to injector. The final results for the procedures I had won’t be visible yet, but already I’m liking what I see. I highly recommend Lynn’s services.

I’ve been getting lip fillers for 3 years and this is the BEST service I’ve gotten so far! I’m typically a loyal customer and I’ve only been with two med spa’s prior but Spa MD has all of my business now. Maury, Beth, and Peg have all been amazing to work with. Also, the prices are impossible to beat! I also began my laser hair removal journey with them and I’m excited to see where I am within the next 6 months. I am definitely coming back for Botox as well! Thank you Spa MD for taking such good care of me.

I received laser hair removal treatment from them a while ago. I have absolutely no reduction in hair growth. If you have any type of melanin in your skin they will call you dark skin and I honestly feel they do not know how to properly conduct hair removal on any person with any melanin present.

I went to Spa MD last week for my first time and loved my experience. My esthetician, Elizabeth was the best! She made me feel comfortable and explained everything that she was doing. I felt like I not only was able to relax and pamper myself, but I learned a lot as well. Make sure to check out this spot and I highly recommend Elizabeth for all your facial needs!

I have not had a pleasant experience with Spa MD, particularly with the management. I had my 5th session on my legs and the technician got a corner of my tattoo causing damage to my skin and tattoo. The manager didn’t care at all when I reported this and told me I’d be fine. Then two weeks later I get an email asking for updated pictures, which I thought was nice, but then someone else called me and asked for all of my personal information like medical history and RX number/location. This obviously concerns me as I am not comfortable taking prescriptions from someone I don’t know and hasn’t even talked to me! The worst part of this entire thing is that the manager never apologized, offered empathy or attempted to make the situation right. She only wanted to “explain”. Needless to say I will not be purchasing any further services from this company again. I see other reviews regarding laser and technicians making errors so I caution new customers to be careful.

Elizabeth gives the BEST facials. My skin has never felt and looked better! She makes you feelcompletely comfortable and walks you through all the steps (she is also good with a quiet room so you can fully relax)! A must stop for self care!
