I usually don’t leave reviews like this, but my experience at Sonder Aesthetica wasn’t so pleasant. I got my lash extensions from one of the lash artists, and she was just… not nice to me. I felt unwelcome, which I definitely did not expect for an almost $200 service. I expected just bare minimum friendliness and respect, but my expectation was not met.

Sonder is my go to spot for any lash, brow, and permanent make-up service. I am very picky about my brows and lashes and they nail it every time. You can see how much they value their trade by the patience, knowledge and training they put into each service. Sonder is the best in the game.

Carly was my makeup artist for my wedding in May. She did a wonderful job and took great care of us. She did a really pretty natural look on all of us and we all loved our makeup! She also did a great job during the trial and even shaped up my brows so they would look better for the trial. In addition, I had my lashes lifted by her the week before my wedding and they lasted about 5 weeks. I LOVED the lash lift. It’s a great alternative to fake lashes and it was wonderful to have done for the honeymoon. If she didn’t live so far from me, I would have my lashes lifted by her all the time!

IF YOU’RE SICK WITH COVID, DON’T MISS YOUR APPT! KEEP LOOKING, DON’T BOOK HERE! My initial experience with this company was amazing. I had my eyebrows Ombre Microbladed by Emily and paid $400 (plus a substantial tip, of course) for my initial appt. I went ahead and paid the additional $75 deposit for my 6-8 week touch-up appt before I left the salon. Unfortunately, the night before my appt for my touch-up I tested positive for strep and Covid. So I reached out to Emily to reschedule my appt- that I was sooo super looking forward to- out of respect for Emily and the company seeing as she would be sitting 2 inches from my face for several hours straight and I thought that was the right thing to do. Fast forward to tonight, two days before my touch-up which was rescheduled for this Thursday 4/21, and I’m just NOW informed that I will have to pay the full $150 for my touch-up appt (not the remaining $75 that I truly owe) and have completely LOST my $75 deposit I’d already paid towards this appt. I explained to Emily had I known I was going to lose $75 I would have selfishly just came to my original appt while being sick with both Covid and strep throat but I was merely trying to be respectful and “do the right thing.” I am the last person in the world to leave reviews like this but I am extremely disappointed and upset with the way Sonder Aesthetica and Emily have approached this situation. “Because the company policy states you must cancel or reschedule 24 hrs in advance or you lose your deposit”.. So, the take-away here is, they would prefer you go ahead and show up to your appt extremely sick and risk not only themselves but their other clients as well getting sick rather than make an exception over uncontrollable circumstances. If I could go back in time, I would’ve never mentioned being sick and just went anyway. Because let’s be realistic here- the touch-up appt is truly the most rewarding one bc that’s the one where your pigment actually holds and you get to enjoy the huge financial investment you’ve made for many years after that. But not me, all because of $75 that Sonder Aesthetica would rather pocket and lose a lifelong client over. I had planned to have additional services here after this as well, including lip pigment.. another $400+ service. Now that I know the values of these people and their true priorities within their company, I regret choosing them and trusting them with something that took me a very long time to save up for as a treat to myself, finally. Please consider the other amazing permanent makeup artists and companies in the Athens area before investing your money into a place like this who would rather lose a client over $75 who care more about themselves than they could ever care about you and your well-being! XO.

I recently visited Carly McGuffey Salon for a one hour massage and it was incredible! The space was very quaint, comfortable and wonderfully relaxing. The massage was amazing! I got a hot stone treatment and the essential oils were perfect. It was the best massage I’ve had in Athens or Atlanta – I will be back!
