Skin City was founded by the present owner, Brigitta Melendy, in July 1995. After over 20 years of operating in San Francisco Skin City relocated to the sunny side of the Bay in Oakland’s Laurel District in 2019. Through the continued service-oriented efforts, the salon has maintained a client base of several hundred regulars– some of whom have been clients since opening in 1995! Skin City is known not only as a skin care salon, but also as a neighborhood supporter of various community events. It is a way of giving back to a community that has allowed the salon to flourish.
