Sometimes I get my hair done here. Mariama, the shop owner, does a very good job and she is the only one I let touch my head. Mariama takes her time and makes sure that it is nice and neat. However, Nadia does a good job as well and she is very fast when she braids. From what I know and my personal experience, the shop can get very loud when they have distinctive discussions and etc. If you have headphones like airpods or beats, I recommend that you make sure they are charged. My mother is a loyal client and she has been going to Mariama for years. She never goes without her headphones being fully charged. They do provide the hair if you have a normal/regular color. For instance, 1b and 2. The shop is very clean but it has limited seating for waiting. When the braiders are done they take time to sweep up their mess. Overall, the shop is nice and I always love how my hair looks when I leave.

I flew in just to get my hair braided. I arrived around 2-3 pm had a short wait, finished at 7. Angie was outstanding she braided my hair exactly the way l described. It was my first time getting braids and I’ll definitely be back. Thanks ladies l definitely enjoyed the atmosphere.

Critical: ProfessionalismI will not be returning. I called ahead to ask how much they charge for two feed in braids. I was told $50. I got two very short small braids in addition, on the side and was charged $65 when my service was finished. I have medium length natural hair. I did not completely blow my hair out, but that wasn’t unusual as every other shop that I have gone to has always finished the blow out. Josie made a huge deal in front of the entire shop about my hair not being blown out. She made me blow my own hair and came in to finish the job when Mama Sue asked her why she wasn’t doing it. She had a look of pure disgust on her face when she was blowing my hair. She embarrassed me in front of the entire shop. This has NEVER happened to me at any other shop. She tried to smooth it over at the end, but the damage was done. My braids don’t match exactly because they were gossiping and raising hell about a co-worker who wasn’t there and she kept stopping to engage in the gossip. One was even using profanity. I WOULD NOT COME BACK HERE I TRIED CALLING AN NO ONE ANSWERED FOR ME TO GET MY REFUND MY BRAIDS WERE A MESS .!.. the thread in my braids started separating which was separating my braids an my braids started LOOKING FRIZZY AFTER THE 4th day which I found was odd !

Critical: Professionalism, Quality, ValueI paid $280 for knotless small-medium braids waist length ombre and I can say that they look horrible. Dee the individual the did my hair the first time made big parts in my hair in which it did not look full at all and I have a lot of hair. She rushed my hair period and made it seem like she was , right.She offered to redo and fix the back of my hair, but they did a poor job to fix it. They back of my hair still have large parts. I commend the owner and two ladies that helped, but Dee should not be doing hair. The fact that I had to come back and she was rude about it when I got there and explained what was wrong. I kept explaining to them if it’s extra I will pay for quality, but they refuse.The first time I came to the shop I enjoyed the quality of the work, but now I would not be returning.
