As someone who is well acquainted with bad haircuts, this ranks pretty far up there. I walked into the store to try to arrange a consultation. After receiving a card with the name and number of the stylist I set up an appointment (which I thought was a nice touch, even without receiving a real consultation). I mistakenly think that the consultation will occur before the haircut on the day of the appointment. After arriving at my appointment, she asks what style I want and gets to work. We agree that this haircut was supposed to be layers and an ends trim. The hairdresser says that she’s cutting off “an inch to an inch and a half at most”. I’m sad to be the person to break the news, but cutting off more than four inches of my hair is not an “inch or maybe an inch and a half”, and leaving random long pieces that you missed cutting does not count as layers. I don’t care if my hair is curly and therefore harder to cut. My stylist claimed that she knew how to cut curly hair when my appointment was arranged and should be able to hold to her word. When I entered your shop my hair was well below my breast, and when I left it was slightly past my shoulders. (These measurements were taken with straight hair for an accurate measurement) Although the service was far below mediocre, my hair dresser was a very charismatic and lovely. Overall, I cannot rate this establishment higher than one star because of the quality that lacks in your service.

This is my favorite salon of all the ones I’ve been to, and let me tell you…I’ve been to fancy salons where they give you a massage and expensive tea, and then charge you out of the nose. Shear Desire isn’t like that. Jessica runs a fine, down to earth, and comfortable establishment. She always does an excellent job making my hair look exactly like I want it. I never feel like I’m being overcharged. These are some fine ladies with mad skills and they will make you look gorgeous!

Went here for the first time today to get a haircut. Krysten did my hair and I absolutely love it. She was so sweet and really took her time. My hair was thick and just a complete mess now it’s thinned out and feels so much lighter and just adorable. Thank you Krysten! I’ll be back for sure! 🙂
