Big-city hair and small-town friendliness! I’ve trusted Shannon with my hair for years. I moved from Portland to Hood River last year, but I still come to Salon Halloo every 8 weeks to get my hair taken care of. Shannon helps me adjust my color with the season of the year, my preference, and those few little gray hairs that are popping up. Great pedicures here too!

Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityCame once for a cut after covid.. I was hoping to make this my new place ;).. The stylist wanted to make my hair look like Meg Ryan..which I did not want. She also gave me her personal contact # to have temporary pink dye outside of salon.. which I did not follow up on… Maybe that is why she did not show for my 2nd appointment that she scheduled with me! When I arrived at the salon for my appointment no one was there, the doors were locked and the lights were out. I called but no response from the owner, or from the stylist. Came once for a cut after covid.. I was hoping to make this my new place ;).. The stylist wanted to make my hair look like Meg Ryan..which I did not want. She also gave me her personal contact # to have temporary pink dye outside of salon.. which I did not follow up on… Maybe that is why she did not show for my 2nd appointment that she scheduled with me! I love Salon Halloo. The stylists are creative, expertly trained and have the knowledge and grace to gently save me from myself when I show up with some fab magazine photo that would be a disaster on my head. Shannon is a master colorist, as well as a genius with my very curly hair. Mattie has cut my son’s hair for years and people are ALWAYS asking where he gets his haircuts. The ambience is laid back and stylish. The conversation is genuine and upbeat. There’s no “too cool for the room” attitude – at Salon Halloo, the only personality that matters is yours – you will leave feeling more beautifully yourself, every time. I highly recommend it!

I absolutely LOVE Salon Halloo. Personable and knowledgable. I’ve been seeing Shannon for 5+ years! Shannon cuts, colors and styles my hair fantastic every time. I have never been disappointed! I’ve had Manis and Pedis by Maddie… also excellent. I highly recommend the short 18 min drive from Portland or the 15 min drive from St Helens to this hidden gem in Scappoose.

My two experiences here have been kind of average, but nothing dreadful. It’s a little spendy of a salon (if you want cheap, and want to get what you pay for, go to Great Clips), but I try to support local businesses, and I appreciate that they go out of their way to be environmentally conscious in disposing of their hair colors. In fact, that latter point is what initially prompted me to schedule with them. I don’t mind paying more for a really nice hair cut and color every once in a while.
