Critical: QualityLiterally showed them a picture and was given a completely different haircut. I can and will cut my hair in the dark next time and it will look better than the Karen haircut I was given. I am completely baffled and appalled at my hair as it look nothing like the pictures the stylist and I discussed. Not even in the same ballpark. If you don’t know how to do something ask someone! Now I have to wear a hat or grease back my hair for the next 6 months before anything can be done about this. Literally showed them a picture and was given a completely different haircut. I can and will cut my hair in the dark next time and it will look better than the Karen haircut I was given. I am completely baffled and appalled at my hair as it look nothing like the pictures the stylist and I discussed. Not even in the same ballpark. If you don’t know how to do something ask someone! Critical: Professionalism, QualityPlease read:I am from Northern Virginia and usually get my hair cut often by the same person for around $60 (excluding tip). This is mostly to get it trimmed because with am trying to grow my hair out, but I also get layers. This past December, I decided to give Toni’s a shot since I am in town as a student at West Virginia University and I saw it had good reviews online. I asked for a haircut and paid $54 (including tip) to have my hair washed, trimmed, and layered. The actual cutting of the hair did not take very long. The service was friendly and the place is clean and well-decorated. However, after less than 2 weeks of having my hair cut, I noticed a lot of split ends. I am not used to seeing split ends so early, or really at all, after seeing my regular stylist back home. So, I called Toni’s to get a professional opinion about what happened. I saw online that the split ends could be because the stylist used dull scissors. The receptionist got me directly in touch with the owner with my question because she did not cut hair. So, I then ask the owner if she thinks the split ends are a result of dull scissors or a new stylist getting a feel for my hair. She said that she didn’t understand my question because it is impossible for the stylist to cut off all of the split ends (apparently this is partly due to the stylist not being able to “see the split ends because the hair is wet”). She also said she has been cutting hair for 15 years. I said that no, that is not normal for there to be so many split ends this bad. She then asked if I’m calling to complain. I started to explain that yes, I am trying to complain about either unkept styling tools or the stylist, but she hung up on me in the middle of me talking after saying call back after getting a 3rd or 4th opinion. I immediately called back assuming that the disconnection must’ve been some kind of mistake, but she went on to say I just hung up on you because I told you to get somebody else’s opinion. I then say well, I just want to complain about the stylist, Axa, then. She then hung up again before I could finish my sentence (but I believe I was able to slip in the stylist’s name before she did). I am in shock about how rudely I was treated and am not going back.
