I brought my 14 year old niece here for her very first haircut and the entire experience was wonderful. My niece has really thick, tight curls that are very prone to frizz and unevenness and Ashley gave her an absolutely adorable haircut, shaped everything beautifully, and educated us thoroughly on best practices and techniques for curly hair. Ashley took her time cutting curl by curl to ensure the shape was perfect. My niece’s hair didn’t even look like the same hair when she was done, it was such an improvement. Ashley also shaped and trimmed her eyebrows for the first time and I truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. She was gentle, thorough, and highly skilled. If you’re looking for a salon and stylist that deeply values their clientele, is highly skilled and knowledgeable with curly hair, and is thorough and patient, I strongly recommend Ashley at Salon 44. We can’t wait to come back for her six month trim! Thanks Ashley and crew!

In 2019 I had a horrible experience with a different hairdresser who completely mangled my hair. I called Salon 44 in tears asking if they could fit me in and explained the situation. Marinela answered and was extremely kind and fit me in the next day! She sat me down and really listened to what I wanted and explained how she would fix it. I left feeling confident, relieved and in love with my new hair. I have only ever gone to salon 44 since because they are the only people I trust with my hair. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

If you want a fire mullet, you have to go to salon 44 in Ashland. Ask for Dee, she did an amazing job on my hair. I could not have asked for a better haircut but that’s just my opinion, you will have to go in and meet the amazing crew they have there. I will definitely be going back!

Marinela did an excellent job on my hair… I have never walked out of a salon loving my new color but this time I definitely did! She took the time to explain to me how to curl and maintain the look I wanted. I will be returning for all my future hair products and coloring 🙂

Marinella Toma is a GENIUS with curly hair and products for it. She is the only one I will let touch my eyebrows and for years have gotten compliments on their shape! Really great service and quality at this salon!

I got a devacut & finish from Marinela (The owner), she really brought out my curls and explained to me how to maintain them and keep them looking like I just walked out the salon. She was very educated on curly hair which is rare to find now. I couldn’t thank her enough! I would highly recommend Salon 44!

I got a perm at a different salon but my hair pre-perm was V cut so there were shorter strands by my face and much longer ones in the back. Not a good look lol. Asked Ashley for help, mentioned that I really wanted something ultra low maintenance (why I got a perm in the first place) but also very cute and professional. She gave me a bob but worked her magic with layering so that my curls would be light and bouncy. 🙂 Needless to say, I absolutely adore the cut she gave me. I haven’t touched a blow dryer (or a hair brush) since. Scrunch and air dry. Thank you Ashley!!
