Second time at this location and second time leaving satisfied and impressed. Last visit Lydia did my hair cut and beard trim, and while my usual cut isn’t difficult to replicate she somehow stood apart from everyone else and was very detail oriented. I went back for a follow up but she was booked, and the entire place was packed! Even being as busy as they were I had very little wait time and was surprised to get a cut from Alex, the GM. Great conversation (I usually hate small talk) and quick cut and beard trim. Even though the cut was fast, it didn’t sacrifice the any skill and I’m very happy. Just moved to Leesburg a few months ago, will definitely be my new regular barber shop.

I’ve been going to roosters since I was 14 (now 19 and in college STILL returning to Roosters on holidays and breaks to get my haircuts). It’s quality to say the least. Alex, my barber, is one of the warmest, most charismatic, interesting people I know. It’s a bonus that he offers a speedy, sharp cut on top of that fact. Very disappointed with the experience at Roosters. My son has a full had of beautiful thick hair. He was growing it out so he can get a custom cut. He was prepared, explained what he wanted his hair to look like, asked not to cut too much of his hair and showed Steve a photo of the hairstyle he wanted. After talking to my son Steve agreed with the style and told my son to put the photo away. Unfortunately he cut a half of his hair off. Looks like Steve did not even try to do what my son wanted. My son ended up with a regular child cut. He looks nothing like himself and we’re all very upset. Beware!

I received bad service and a poor haircut here from Alex. I called in day of for my first haircut here and Alex was the only person available. When I sat down he asked what length I wanted on the sides and immediately started cutting. I asked him to straighten my sideburns which he did not do at all. Alex never even pulled out the mirror to show me what the back looked like (he also never asked how I wanted it) the haircut went by so quick that I literately had no idea that it was over, I thought he was pushing my chair back to trim my mustache or but no it was to wash my hair for about 2 minutes. I was inside for 10 minutes max and it cost me $48 to get a very very subpar haircut, one which I had to get done over again a week later while I was abroad.

I’ve gone to Roosters a few times and it’s never been a terrible experience, just very overpriced. I found time today to get a haircut there and I immediately regretted it. My back and sides were cut well but the top and bangs are horrific. I asked for a little off the bangs, maybe slightly above the eyebrows, but the barber left the sides of the bangs about 3-4 inches long (like how they were before the haircut) and cut the middle section to about an inch long if that, to make what looks like an inverted widow’s peak on the front of my face. I’ve managed to style it sideways to hide this but I’m still pretty upset. On top of this the cut costed me a whopping $45, which is their flat rate for anyone 16 or older (on the haircut options it says it’s supposed to come with a “steamy hot towel” and a “hair massage with shampoo”, neither of which I got). I got a refund thankfully but I’m never going back again. On a different note their store is clean and modern and I’ve seen up to 7 or 8 barbers working at once so for anyone else going there you could get a good barber, if you’re lucky.

I’ve been going to this barber shop for almost 4 years now. I’ve been making my appointments with Jen Ro for the last year and a half or so. She’s GREAT and always leaves my hair and beard looking sharp! They just recently updated their scheduling with an online scheduling tool through a mobile app. Works great!!

I usually don’t write reviews but with the service I got yesterday I feel the need to. I have been visiting Rooster’s Ashburn/Leesburg location for a while now and so I went back for a hair cut and beard trim. The hair cut was no where close to what I had asked for and I see that the hair cut is not aligned on either side of my head. The hairdresser (dont remember her name but she was asian) left one side of my hair evidently longer than the other side. For beard i had clear instructions on what was needed and it was just a little clean up but ended up totally messing my beard line and this person had no idea about shaping beards. She trimmed one side on my beard line straight and curved the other side. Luckily Meghan who I usually get my cut from and does an excellent job came in to the rescue and fixed whatever was left of my beard. My only request is to be transparent and let the customer know if you don’t know what you are doing because either way they will find out the hard way. I have such a big trip coming up and she completely killed all the excitement with this horrible experience!! Please only hire hairdressers who are experienced and who what they are doing or have them train properly before they start serving customers!!!
