I came here to try another electrolysis business. I have been getting electrolysis on my facial hair at another location for the past 5-6 sessions. I won’t say her name (she’s so kind and I owe her for explaining how electrolysis works and getting me into doing it), but her treatment is quite painful because she uses the short wave machine and she only takes cash. Her office is also quite far from my home, and she doesn’t do many evening appointments. So I decided to find another electrolysis place and found this place in Squirrel Hill. This place is closer to home, they offer later appointments (as late as 7:30) and they take credit card. Not only that, when I got to my appointment, they use a newer machine that uses the blend method, which apparently is safer and not as painful! I went in and Dani did my electrolysis. She is very kind and patient, she explained what she was doing and she took her tome with every hair follicle. It was much more comfortable using this machine, only a few painful moments but for the most part pretty bearable treatment. My face is hairless afterwards and it didn’t itch or turn as red as the treatments that I used to get with the short wave machine. The pricing at this place is more expensive than the last place, but it’s worth the money considering what i have just said. Thank you Ober Yahr!

I highly recommend Ober Yahr Electrolysis. Jamie the owner is absolutely fantastic as is the rest of her team. I am happy with my results. It’s located in the back to afford easy access to the entrance and parking lot which is big. The interior is a modern with a calming environment while waiting. Beautiful bathroom to freshen up in. Thanks ladies for all you do to keep us looking beautiful!

Jamie has been absolutely incredible! I have been going to her for a while now and have seen incredible results. I was a little worried about going to my first appointment but once I got there Jamie was so nice and made me feel so comfortable. I HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone who is struggling with unwanted hair.

I went here for 5 treatments and it was very effective when I went. However, in order for it to be effective, I had to have the settings at a point where I was experiencing too much pain for me to handle. When the settings were turned down it seemed like the hairs did not come out when pulled upon, so it felt like I had to be on the higher settings in order for it to work. The technicians were empathetic to my pain and tried to work with me, but I felt like I needed the settings adjusted for every other hair follicle for pain management, so I often remained silent to try to get as many hairs done as possible. The pain experienced by me may be different for someone else, but I have done laser and electrolysis at other places that do not put me on a knife’s edge of pain management.

It was such a relief to get electrolysis here. Dealing with unwelcome hairs has been frustrating and defeating, but after my first appointment I felt like there was finally a remedy that worked (in the past I have tried laser removal which burned and did not last long). Jamie seemed very attuned to my needs and asked questions to make sure I was comfortable throughout the whole process. I really like the atmosphere in the office, too! The process itself was relatively painless and 100% more bearable than waxing!!!
