I really appreciate how the shop opened at 8:30am for me because of a wedding at 12. I had great conversation with Erin and she did lovely bridal hair. I am giving this experience 3 stars because they do not necessarily cater toward African American hair. Which is mind blowing seeing that the owner Diane is indeed black. There were no products to tame my edges. Or proper products to protect black hair from heat damage. Very disappointing. It’s also very funny to me she adds “identifies as black owned” to this google page. Luckily I went with my hair already blow dried and straightened. She just had to style. Thank you Erin for getting my hair done in quick and efficient timing.

Critical: Professionalism, QualityWas my go to salon after many searches in south Philadelphia.Today’s experience was down right awful and what was supposed to be a treat for me became a nightmare.The receptionist, Autumn was not friendly and welcoming but quite the opposite! She practically attacked me when she saw I was about to eat my apple and while I understand there are new COVID regulations in effect, they were not sent to me via email or verbally communicated.My stylist Erin, though talented, didn’t validate my previous experience at that salon and how nerve wrecking it was to switch salons and made a huge mishap in my hair! She did ‘fix’ it but simply did not understand how both sensitive and time bound my situation was.Last, I offered Autumn a chance to change my experience by changing her overall attitude and demeanor and she just simply apologized and continued to explain why she did what she did. Defending herself… very unprofessional, rude and down right condescending.Sadly, I won’t be coming back.And while I’m big on tipping. Excellent service and conversation. I’ve gotten several great cuts from here from a couple different hairdressers. The men’s cut is a little more expensive then comparable places, but comes with a shampoo and a free touch-up in between cuts. They’ve also styled my hair after each cut and given me lots of great advice. My girlfriend has also had her hair trimmed her and loved the experience and value.
