So disappointing! I read the reviews and decided to give this salon the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, I have to say that the stylist never showed up after she informed me she was on her way as I sat in front of her salon for my scheduled then rescheduled appointment making me lose two days of work. How can someone treat customers this way with no regard or respect of their time. I traveled from Maryland and she knew this. She called me when she should have been unlocking her salon doors to tell me she was 1.5 hours away but she would come anyway. She never came nor called. I waited for hours in 90 degree weather because I was excited about getting my hair done. Perhaps having a business is not her forte and she should leave it to those who actually want to serve their customers.

It’s unfortunate because I’ve waited YEARS to find a haircare specialist that was not only good at styling but well versed in hair care and maintenance. Despite the reviews regarding time and lateness issues, I gave it a shot and was extremely satisfied with my starter locs and retwist. I work in the corporate world, so it was important that I maintain a professional image at all times and I was willing to pay handsomely for it. Because I was satisfied with my hair’s outcome, I began recommending her to family members and other colleagues. I’m All for supporting small black businesses. My mother ( also an extremely busy corporate professional from Maryland) scheduled an appointment over a week in advance. She recieved an automated email saying ( not requesting but informing) that her appointment had been rescheduled for another day ( this was the night before her originally scheduled appointment). That alone is inconvient and unprofessional. Her appointment was at 10 am… not only did she drive from Maryland and wait in 90 degree weather… her stylist never showed up! She waited for over three hours in her car! I’m humiliated because this was my reference and disappointed because I was ready to send a whole lot of professional clientele her way. Women that would have kept consistent appointments and would have paid extremely well for her services. ♀️

Critical: Professionalism, PunctualityI would never recommend this place to anyone. Meeka has no respect for others and their time whatsoever. Despite the fact that she is NEVER on time I kept going back because I loved the way she does my hair, but it’s really not worth coming back after today. My appointment was at 1:00 and I texted her to let me know if she’s behind because she usually is. She told me to come at 1:15-1:20. So knowing her I got there at 1:30 and she wasn’t even at the salon yet. So I wait 15 mins and call. She advised me that she’d be another 5 mins which is fine. I’ve had to wait an hour plus before so 20 mins wasn’t terrible for her. After another 15 minutes passed I had to leave. It’s a slap in the face at this point. She’ll have you wait forever and come in like nothing happened. It’s truly not worth the hassle. I’ll take the 1 hour drive back to my old stylist simply because I know she’ll be on time.Meeka is truly unreliable and it’s such a shame because she has talent. If you don’t mind having to run around and wait on her, go ahead. But I’m telling you she does not value your time or business. The reviews mentioning her unprofessionalism are completely accurate. I’ve been to her enough times to know.At one point I asked her to be my stylist for my wedding which she happily agreed to do but when I texted her for a consultation she didn’t reply.
