Larry’s Barber Shop

Critical: ProfessionalismMy wife and I normally, for years, have been getting our haircut 17 miles away from us at a woman named Vicki. During the covid, my wife being at high risk, we put off getting our hair cut, Trying to do it ourselves once. After receiving our second dose of Moderna vaccine we called Vicki to make sure she was still in business. To our surprise, she was moving to Larry’s, 7 miles from our house! We were excited to a shorter drive and were in a real need of a good haircut! My wife has trouble with longer trips. We go into Larry’s shop and sign in to get Vicki to cut our hair. Now just imagine, my wife and I are in our 70’s , I have the longest hair I have had in my life, a long beard, I was so ready to get rid of! My wife sat down in Vicki’s chair to get her hair cut and all of sudden Larry blurted out that he didn’t allow women to get haircuts in his barbershop unless they wanted a man’s haircut. We thought he was kidding at first. My wife asked Vicki to not give here a burr cut. But Larry wouldn’t leave it alone. He pointed out some pictures above his barber chair of Mayberry RFD and ran us out of the shop. We left devastated that we were not able to get our hair cuts! First shut down by covid and now by Larry! Do what you want and go where you want but, as for us, we will never go back! We feel for Vicki having to put up without this little man.
