It’s been almost three weeks (which is my usual time I keep my acrylics on), and my natural nail underneath is lifting at the cuticle… Not 100% sure if the tools they used were very clean. Nails are really thick. I won’t be back.

On about every other finger, my cuticles were cut with the spinning buffer to the point that my cuticles are bleeding. The nail tech is sloppy and just says “oops sorry.” This was done by the older man who takes walk-ins. I never think to make an appointment, but it isn’t fair for a walk-in customer to be receiving this type of service. Getting my nails done is supposed to be a relaxing experience and this was everything but relaxing.

If you’re looking for a great quality manicure, pedicure, or acrylic set – go see Johnny! It is clear that he takes much care in his work and his clients. The salon is typically closed on Tuesdays, and I called on a Tuesday asking if they could get me in for a basic manicure and pedicure. Without hesitation Johnny asked me what time I wanted to come in, and got me booked! The last 2 pedicures I have gotten were from random salons in Tulsa that were highly rated so I decided to try out, and had horrible experiences. My pedicure with Johnny was wonderful! I have also gone to him in the past for acrylic nails, and he does AMAZING! Very detailed and talented with nail shaping and nail art. If you’re looking for a new nail salon to make your regular spot, this is the one!

Currently moved from California and found Johnny Nails close to my new home. Well let me tell you 1st of all I got lucky as they are closed Tuesday and I was welcomed to an appointment on that day. I walked in for a refill and he immediately said I needed a new set. I refused and we proceeded. I had not had a nail tech take so much detail and patience. Johnny is the best in my book. FYI I’m a licensed cosmetologist (don’t practice) but I know good quality work since I’ve been doing my nails for over 30yrs. Thanks Johnny I loved my nails!

Make sure you know exactly what to ask for and what exactly each product looks like at the end .I asked for ombré and Johnny said okay we’ll do acrylic . I answered “oh okay” . Then he offered to do it in dip (I had dip before ) . I was sent to sit with another employee (even though I scheduled specifically with him ) . This is the end product . A very spotty , un even , unblended looking ombre . When I asked why it looked like that I was told “because it’s dip , that’s why ombre we normally do acrylic “. So … they did it in a material they knew wasn’t going to look good but didn’t warn me? I’m not a nail tech , I don’t know how each product works but they do . Isn’t it there job to tell me “hey, this look will work best with acrylic .” They offered to cover it in a solid gel but I wasn’t looking for a color , I wanted ombré . I offered to pay for having them removed and was told it would still be the same price as the full set . So I ended up paying for these hideous / embarrassing nails . They’re nice people , his other nails look fantastic . Just don’t make my mistake and assume they’ll tell you if something will work or not . They’ll wait till the end so you have to pay for it and then say next time they’ll do it the way they should have done it in the first place .

I usually have Jenny, his wife do my nails (she’s great and I never have a problem with my nails) but I watch as Johnny does nails/designs and how matriculate he is with his work. Show him a picture and you’ve got it! Other places rush and I’ve had poor experiences even the day before I was leaving for vacation! Not here! They are even open Sundays! This is a quaint salon with friendly staff, never over crowded, never a long wait. Their little girl is there often and she is adorable! As a mom, I sometimes need to bring my son along and I love that he has made a friend when we visit. They do a great job especially in todays economic struggles. There’s nothing wrong with their operation and I’m so glad they continue to build their business. First time here. Excellent work done by Johnny. Scheduled appointment. Went in with a picture from pintrest & he executed it flawlessly. He carefully chose the glitters and checked each nail 3-4X making sure they were identical. Also got a basic pedicure done w/gel polish & the same glitters. I highly recommend making an appointment with Johnny.
