Innu Hair Salon is the former Allure Salon owner’s new independent business. I recently switched over to Innu Hair Salon to follow my stylist, Jennifer. I love that she is on her own now, as it used to be so hard to get an appointment with her at Allure because there was always a wait to book her. I discovered her two years ago at Allure Salon after moving here from Chicago. I was really worried I wouldn’t be able to find someone who was skilled at cutting Asian hair, but after my first cut with her, I was enthralled that there was someone out here who could do an incredible job with my hair at a reasonable price. Her work is so noticeably good, that since going to her, I’ve had strangers compliment me on my hair and ask where I got it done.

I love Jennifer! She is highly skilled and passionate about what she does. I am pretty particular about my hair, and Jennifer puts me at ease! She is truly an artist. Such reasonably priced, precise and flawless haircuts, I personally believe she could charge much more than she does. My cuts always last forever, and style so easily. Before I found Jennifer my hair was a wreck, and so was I because of it. I have very fine hair and haven’t met anyone capable of bringing out its full potential like Jennifer can. I am in two business environments: I am a style consultant with J. Hilburn Men’s Clothier; and I am vocalist who works on an international scale. Both areas are self-explanatory when it comes to needing to look your best. Jennifer is an incredible stylist. She is perhaps the only person in town who can provide a razor cut, which I would have to go to Chicago, or another larger city, to obtain prior to finding INNU. Her salon is the perfect blend between professional and personable, and I consider it one of Champaign-Urbana’s best resources for hair care.

My experience at Innu was awful. She cut my hair MUCH shorter than I had wanted, and the “layers” she made look ridiculous – they are COMPLETELY uneven, especially around the front. If she hadn’t rushed me to get out of there I would have had her keep fixing it. In addition, the highlights I asked for were not very noticeable to begin with and it has only been 5 days (I have only washed my hair twice since the appointment) and the highlights are almost completely gone. To top everything off she charged me $40 dollars extra because I “have a lot of hair” – which is RIDICULOUS. I would most certainly NOT recommend Innu hair salon to ANYONE.

I am extremely disappointed with Jennifer after an experience yesterday. I was a returning customer. I went to her once before. Although she did a wonderful job on my hair, she was running over an hour behind schedule this first time. But I did ultimately have a good experience even in spite of this once she got to my hair. I thought that she deserved the benefit of the doubt when I pulled into the parking lot and called her and she told me she needed to reschedule because she was running behind. But my experience with her today was completely avoidable and unacceptable on her part.

This salon does not exist anymore and the website and email service should be shut down. I scheduled an appointment online and received 3 email confirmations. When I arrived for my appointment I had to search through the building looking for the salon, the name was not on any signs or directories. I called 6 times and no one picked up and the voicemail was full. This was a frustrating experience and a waste of time and parking.
