(I haven’t had highlights or lighter colored hair in almost 16 years! He’s the best hair stylist I’ve found across SF, Seattle, NY and Austin. These hair stylists all previously worked at Japan Center Beauty Clinic. I followed my specific stylist, Keiko, to Hair Caffe. She has been cutting my straight hair for 10+ years now. The price is not as cheap as before, but it’s less expensive than or similar to some of the major salons. The part I look forward to is the scalp massage and hot towel under the neck. As my hair grows out, it still retains its shape and doesn’t look awkward. I think the entire experience speaks to the stylists’ training in Japan. While it’s a few blocks from a parking garage, it’s a pleasant location. The inside decor is neutral but pleasant and modern.

Without a doubt this place is the best in SF. I have been to many places to get haircuts and this place beats all. Specifically I recommend a guy name Masa. His technique is absolutely mind blowing, especially the precision and care he takes in every cut. I am a Caucasian man, and every time I get a fade from him, the texture is so different because he strictly only uses scissors (Even the sides!). Even for someone like me who is not a hair critique I can tell that his technique and speed far surpasses any hair cutters I have experienced. I highly recommend this man to join a contest or something because he is insanely good!!!

I got a great haircut from Kotomi yesterday. She was very attentive to making sure everything was going smoothly. For COVID, the door was kept open with good circulation, everyone was wearing masks and there was only one other customer there at the time I was there so I felt very safe. Highly recommend!

It is hard to schedule but really, they are super duper skilled hair stylists. It is rather expensive, but again, they are worth it. We have been coming here for the longest time and we have no intention to go anywhere else! My kids gets haircut here too.
