Established in 1997. Gordiany’s Hair Salon has been established by George Gordiany in San Antonio, TX in 1997. Later, in 2013, Larysa Gordiany has joined. Salon is located in beautiful Los Patios, and is a favorite spot for hair for many San Antonio locals.

Smaller studio so with Covid it’s perfect. It’s on the Los Patios property so use directions there to make it easier. They offer a variety of services but I go for regular cuts. Larysa is my stylist and she always takes ample time and listens to my request. I’ve changed styles a hand full of times and she’s always been spot on. Prices are reasonable for the services, no complaints.

I like the way George listens before he cuts, and am particularly impressed with the cutting techniques he uses. I can go a full 5 weeks in between cuts. For the last 3 years I have used George for highlights. They are so natural looking and have certainly given my hair a rich look and feel.

I bought a groupon for $59 for hair cut, deep condition, and full highlights. I have long (waist length), medium thickness, naturally honey blonde hair. I get darker roots during the winter so I just wanted to lighten/brighten my 2-3 inches of roots before my wedding on Memorial Day weekend. Setting up an appointment was fairly easy- book far in advance though!! When I walked in, she told me it would be more since my hair was not thin or short … I’ve had this happen to me several times so I’m not shocked, also it still ended up being half the price of what it would normally be for me (additional $65 including my tip) so it was good. I only had baby highlights done on the top/crown of my head and around my face. She did cut way more than a trim (3-4 inches vs 1 inch) – but I was ok with it since my hair really did need it and I had plenty to spare. What really got her the 5 stars was her efficiency and the end result – she was SO FAST (1.5 hr for cut, highlights, wash, deep conditioning, dry and style) and the color/ blending of highlights with my natural hair was PERFECT. I absolutely loved the end result and since this was so critical since it was right before my wedding, I couldn’t have been happier. I think I’ve found a permanent hair person – which is saying A LOT because I’m super picky about my hair. Her name is Louisa – she is the wife of the owner. I would recommend her to anyone!

The location is a little difficult to find even with GPS. It’s hidden in a small eating/shopping plaza off of a service road along 410. There isn’t a reception desk–just chairs–so no one greets you when you come in. Instead, you sit and wait for your stylist to get you. The owner’s wife (I forget her name; she had a European accent) did my hair. It was a simple bob cut with bangs, and I brought a photo of it for her to reference.

Going in I felt I made a big mistake. But as my new hairstylist and I started to work together it turned out to be the best. We made a big change on my hairstyle and changed my hair color to a lower maintenance. GREAT CHANGE! My new hairstylist LaRisa is just amazing. Everyone is also living it.

George Gordiany’s is now the only hairdresser I’ll allow to touch my hair. He brought my dull lackluster over-dyed blonde hair back to soft, pretty luster and shine. So happy to have found my own hairdresser that styles so perfect for my type of hair. His work shows by the health of the hair he styles. I never do my own hair now and I never miss an appointment with George.

I should have written this review a few weeks ago, but better late than never especially since my intention is to warn other people who might find this hair dresser on Groupon. I bought a deal from there for full highlights and a haircut for $52, but when I showed up for my appointment I was told that I would have to pay extra because my hair is long. I thought ‘ok, I understand, I don’t mind paying a little more’ only to then be told that she wanted me to pay an extra NINETY DOLLARS if I wanted to get my hair done. I was shocked and so angry! Clearly when people buy a Groupon, they try and do so to save money even if it means driving to other side of town (like I had to do) or getting your hair done at a tiny salon like this one. I ended up calling Groupon customer service while I was there and explaining the situation and thankfully they refunded my money. I wish this lady was not able to still advertise on Groupon. This is a scam, so avoid at all costs unless you want to find yourself in the same horrible situation I did. Guess what? I ended up getting my hair done at my local salon for $130 so $10 less than what I would have paid with this lady’s “coupon”. Not a big difference, but it’s a matter of integrity: you can’t lure me in by advertising a great deal, only to then charge me so much extra that I ‘d end up paying the same price as a full price salon. Shame on you!!!
